I love Skye Warren, but her titles and publication dates change at the drop of a hat! FORCE OF NATURE was originally titled THE CRASH and has seen various due dates come and go over the past few months. (THE CRASH is now the title of the “prequel novella,” possibly the first few chapters of FORCE OF NATURE). I’ll be reading FORCE OF NATURE whatever it’s eventual title or release date, but take it from me: don’t get too attached to that August 9 publication date.
Amelia Wilde. Skye Warren’s co-writer on FORCE OF NATURE, has her own book scheduled for next week: BLACKMAIL (July 26). Wilde’s publication dates are generally more reliable than Warren’s, so I’m assuming BLACKMAIL will arrive as promised. Like Warren, Wilde writes very dark romance. BLACKMAIL is about a woman who steals from her boss and what he wants in exchange for not reporting her to the authorities. I love that dark stuff, but YMMV.
@DiscoDollyDeb Also a fan of Skye Warren and support her taking extra time as she needs it for her mental health (as she’s discussed in the past as being part of the reason for changing dates). Without knowing her situation, I wish she would give herself more time in the first place so she wasn’t always pushing release dates. For her books I often wait until the entire series is out before I start reading them. It’s hard to wait for the next, especially when the date keeps changing.

@Erin: I did not know about Skye Warren’s mental health, and I did not intend to make light of her situation. Knowing that she has had mental health struggles, I’m worried that she has really over-extended herself with the Midnight Dynasty series—she’s working on one trilogy and she’s starting this new one with Amelia Wilde. I think, possibly, some writers over-committed during the Covid lockdown and then, as things were reopening, began to feel overwhelmed. (I know last year Katee Robert decided to discontinue her Sabine Valley series because she was feeling overwhelmed by the various series she had started and, for the sake of her mental health, she decided to focus on writing the books that were bringing her the most joy.) I wish Skye Warren the best and will always read her books when she releases them.
Hookup plan is great; Ben and Beatriz I wanted to read but failed at getting a review copy.
