We have a super special edition of Cover Snark! On this week’s podcast, we did a live snarking of a couple covers. We also wanted to extend to option to snark to the rest of the reviewers.
Elyse: I’m getting a Flowers in the Attic vibe from the first one
Tara: Where are that zookeeper’s clothes?
Shana: That dude has a hedgehog on his head. Hedgehogs are cute. If he’d stopped there, he could have had any woman on earth.
But no, he had to throw in the platypus and now it’s weird.
Sneezy: It does bring up the question of whether he likes his supposed love interest or not. Catherine once suggested letting platypus be in close proximity with narcissists who tried to hoover me back into their control.
Hmmm? What’s that? Venomous spurs? Oh they’ll be fiiiiiiiine
Claudia: I’m getting Dr. Doolittle vibes from the second one.
Lara: Is that cat balancing on his fist? Also, the blue at the bottom is giving me water vibes. Maybe he is the only port in a storm, literally.
The typography is ghastly, but I like the art on the first one.
Wouldn’t being an elephant shifter be awkward? Feel a shift coming on, and you frantically scramble to be in a spacious location — a parking lot! A ballroom! The dog park! — because even the most DTF romantic interest might be miffed if you end up wearing their ceiling around your neck and sticking a tusk through the flatscreen.

Hedgehogs may look cute Shana, but I have it on good authority (a friend who looked after resuced hedgehogs) that they like to roll in their own sh!t, and they are flea-ridden!
Is it just me or does the Fire and Ember heroine just have one centrally positioned boob? She is certainly miserable about something.

Tales of Fire and Embers is giving me Poe vibes, but not in a good way.
What is going on with her neckline? Are her boobs in profile while the rest of her isn’t? Is it just a weird neckline?
Also hedgies are not affectionate. They can be perceived as cranky by people who should have just adopted a dog instead.
She looks Iike she has one ginormous boob on the Embers cover.
Fire and Embers are just burned out.
And I’m expecting that eagle to swoop down in front of that guy and pose, like the one in Peacemaker’s opening credits.

Fire and embers couple look conjoined at his shoulder and her back, maybe also the hair? I agree that she also has 1 giant lump on her chest, is she suffering from cancer because of smoke from the fire and embers?
