Links: Ally Sheedy, Kelly Clarkson, & More

Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses.Hey hey! It’s Wednesday!

I am officially back in the States! Golly, it was so nice seeing my brother, but I’m also really glad I can sleep in my own bed again. I haven’t adjust to the time different just yet. I’m conked out by 9:30pm, which is unusual for me. Thank you all for keeping up with my travels!

Also in typical cat fashion, Linus sat in my lap for less than 2 minutes the night I got home and then things were back to being business as usual.

Carrie has an essay in Death’s Garden Revisited, which is now up on Kickstarter! They have a little less than a month to go and they’ve already reached their funding goal!

Check out this list of fantasy romances on Buzzfeed! I can always count in Sil to put a completely new-to-me title on my radar.

Last week, we featured a romance anthology in the works with the proceeds going toward humanitarian effort in Ukraine. Now, Humble Bundle has a truly amazing list of games you can grab with proceeds going toward those same efforts. If you’re unfamiliar with Humble Bundle, it’s a “pay what you want” model!

Ever wonder what actress Ally Sheedy is up to these days? Apparently, she’s a book editor!

I am absolutely tickled by this singing competition between Anne Hathaway and Kelly Clarkson.

Don’t forget to share what cool or interesting things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

Thank you for sharing the Humble bundle. I purchased one when I first got Steam oh those many ages ago and have played maybe 10% of the games I got. This is a great cause and I like the work they do.

Also I loved the clip of Anne Hathaway belting out that song, and Kelly’s reaction. Just gold.

  2. Lisa F says:

I love Ally Sheedy and I’d die to have her edit my book.

  3. Susanna says:

My first encounter with Ally Sheedy was in the 70s, when she wrote a children’s historical novel (with fantasy elements) at age 12 or so. (“She Was Nice to Mice: The Other Side of Elizabeth I’s Character Never Before Revealed by Previous Historians.” It’s narrated by a mouse. No, you can’t have my 1975 copy.)

  4. Todd says:

All those fantasy romances have beautiful covers.

  5. Qualisign says:

The list of fantasy romances is pure gold! I agree that the covers are wonderful, but THE DRAGON’S BRIDE is heaving bosoms at its finest. Even the dragon appears to have a bit of a heave there. Already bookmarked the site: there are just so many potential gems in that list.

    And welcome home, Amanda!

  6. Soohydc says:

@Susanna, wait, Ally Sheedy wrote that?? I loved that book!! I was very young when I read it and had no idea who wrote it. This makes me very happy 🙂

  7. Kareni says:

Welcome home, Amanda! (And feel free to do a column of pictures from your trip for those of us who enjoy armchair travels.)

I kept scrolling through the fantasy romance list, ready to be mad at them for leaving off Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri, but it was #17. It was my favorite read of 2021 – can’t recommend it enough.
