Join us for another great discussion on covers we love!
Cover design by David DeWitt and Erin Fitzsimmons
Amanda: I love the slight sneer on the heroine’s face.
Claudia: love the raised half lip!!!
Sarah: I love how the artist has drawn their faces and posture. Wow are they talented.
Amanda: According to her twitter bio, she’s only 19!
From Leah: Wanted to share a cover love. Not gonna lie it is at least partially hair jealousy after quarantine hair. But I love the flow of this cover it reminds me of wind and water. And the curves of the title are so like vines. It feels like nature in a cover.
Sarah: HI BRO CROW!
Elyse: Omg I would pay so much money for that hair.
Amanda: Same! But god the upkeep would bankrupt me.
Elyse: I just love the joy here.
Amanda: Also, love all the details, especially in the faces!
Tara: That’s so freaking cute.
Carrie: I loved that book and this cover is perfect.
Lara: Gorgeous!
Sneezy: I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!
Tara: It’s just so, so pretty.
Sneezy: Uuuugh I’ll probably never commit to a tattoo, but if I did, I’d want something like this
Carrie: Stunning, evocative, unusual.
Sorry, I can see why you all like the Juliet Takes a Breath cover, but riding a motorcycle without a helmet is a huge no for the part of me that is an ex-road safety officer.
I do like the It All Comes Back To You cover, the slight sneer is delicious. But I love the Girl of the Night Garden cover, so much loveliness.
The covers are indeed stunning! Thanks for sharing.
@Jazzlet: You’re not alone–the first thought that came to my mind was “Terrifying!” But extremely well drawn, yes.
A Magic Steeped in Poison: Hurrah, I get to paraphrase what I so often say on the Cover Snark side: I was so bowled over by the bright colors and pretty swirls, I almost didn’t notice that they are pictures of things–fish and flowers and so on, which probably figure in the plot.
There’s a lesson here for cover artists: cancel the Photoshop subscription and stock up on paints and brushes instead.
