This is the first book in a historical mystery series, which is perfect timing if you’ve exhausted all the current historical mystery series recommendations. Some readers feel like there’s been a glut of releases in that subgenre, but others are always happy to have more options. It has a 4.0-star rating on Goodreads.

Lady Helena Investigates is a good read for people that like the Lady Darby Series. I found it while looking for something else several months ago and was glad I did
I really liked Lady Helena Investigates. It’s not groundbreaking in its cozy mystery-ness, but sometimes you don’t need groundbreaking! I hope the author writes a sequel.

I’ve been following SB Sarah’s lead in making my way through this series, and I was thrilled to see these books were on sale, because they’re no longer in KU, and normally cost ten or eleven dollars each.

@Melanie: The Cadfael books are also on sale at BN. I’ve had them all in paper forever, but glad to get the ebook version. The first few were on sale a while back,so now I have most of them.
The Blacksmith Queen by G.A. Aiken is $2.99 on Amazon and price matched elsewhere it seems. I really enjoyed this (and I know that the bitchery did as well) and the second one is slated for the fall.
Iron and Velvet by Alexis Hall is $1.99 at Amazon right now. I love Hall’s writing so this was a one-click for me.
