  • Love Lettering

    Love Lettering by Kate Clayborn

RECOMMENDED: Love Lettering by Kate Clayborn is $2.99 at Amazon! I think this deal started on Friday, so it could end very soon. Aarya gave this one an A:

Love Lettering is a special book that I’ll hold close to my heart for a long time. It’s a quiet romance with quiet protagonists, but sometimes it’s the quiet moments that echo the loudest.

In this warm and witty romance from acclaimed author Kate Clayborn, one little word puts a woman’s business—and her heart—in jeopardy . . .

Meg Mackworth’s hand-lettering skill has made her famous as the Planner of Park Slope, designing custom journals for her New York City clientele. She has another skill too: reading signs that other people miss. Knowing the upcoming marriage of Reid Sutherland and his polished fiancée was doomed to fail is one thing, but weaving a secret word of warning into their wedding program is another. Meg may have thought no one would spot it, but she hadn’t counted on sharp-eyed, pattern-obsessed Reid.

A year later, Reid has tracked Meg down to find out how she knew that his meticulously planned future was about to implode. But with a looming deadline and a bad case of creative block, Meg doesn’t have time for Reid’s questions—unless he can help her find her missing inspiration. As they gradually open up to each other, both try to ignore a deepening connection between them. But the signs are there—irresistible, indisputable, urging Meg to heed the messages Reid is sending her, before it’s too late . . .

  • Say No to the Duke

Say No to the Duke by Eloisa James

Say No to the Duke by Eloisa James is $2.99! This one is part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals. This is the latest book in The Wildes of Lindow Castle series and I love the cheekiness of the cover. Readers say this one didn’t live up to their expectations while others really enjoyed the heroine.

One little wager will determine their fate—a daring escape or falling into temptation with a rakish lord.

Lady Betsy Wilde’s first season was triumphant by any measure, and a duke has proposed—but before marriage, she longs for one last adventure.

No gentleman would agree to her scandalous plan—but Lord Jeremy Roden is no gentleman. He offers a wager. If she wins a billiards game, he’ll provide the breeches.

If he wins…she is his, for one wild night.

But what happens when Jeremy realizes that one night will never be enough? In the most important battle of his life, he’ll have to convince Betsy to say no to the duke.

  • The Other Miss Bridgerton

The Other Miss Bridgerton by Julia Quinn

The Other Miss Bridgerton by Julia Quinn is $2.99! Another Kindle Daily Deal! This is the third book in the Rokesbys series and also described as a Bridgertons prequel. However, readers say this works fine as a standalone. Quinn is an auto-buy for a lot of romance readers, though some were unable to forgive the hero for kidnapping the heroine.

She was in the wrong place…

Fiercely independent and adventurous, Poppy Bridgerton will only wed a suitor whose keen intellect and interests match her own. Sadly, none of the fools from her London season qualify. While visiting a friend on the Dorset coast, Poppy is pleasantly surprised to discover a smugglers’ hideaway tucked inside a cave. But her delight turns to dismay when two pirates kidnap her and take her aboard a ship, leaving her bound and gagged on the captain’s bed…

He found her at the wrong time…

Known to society as a rascal and reckless privateer, Captain Andrew James Rokesby actually transports essential goods and documents for the British government. Setting sail on a time-sensitive voyage to Portugal, he’s stunned to find a woman waiting for him in his cabin. Surely, his imagination is getting the better of him. But no, she is very real—and his duty to the Crown means he’s stuck with her.

Can two wrongs make the most perfect right?

When Andrew learns that she is a Bridgerton, he knows he will likely have to wed her to avert a scandal—though Poppy has no idea that he is the son of an earl and neighbor to her aristocratic cousins in Kent. On the high seas, their war of words soon gives way to an intoxicating passion. But when Andrew’s secret is revealed, will his declaration of love be enough to capture her heart…?

  • First Star I See Tonight

First Star I See Tonight by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

First Star I See Tonight by Susan Elizabeth Phillips is $2.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal for today. For many people, this was one of the most anticipated romances of 2016. But others found the book had problems with race and misogyny. Do check out the review at BookThingo for more on the latter if you’re curious. If you read it, what were your impressions?

A star quarterback and a feisty detective play for keeps in this sporty, sexy, sassy novel—a long-awaited new entry in the beloved, award-winning, New York Times bestselling author’s fan-favorite Chicago Stars football series.

Piper Dove is a woman with a dream—to become the best detective in the city of Chicago. First job? Trail former Chicago Stars quarterback, Cooper Graham. Problem? Graham’s spotted her, and he’s not happy.

Which is why a good detective needs to think on her feet. “The fact is…I’m your stalker. Not full-out barmy. Just…mildly unhinged.”

Piper soon finds herself working for Graham himself, although not as the bodyguard he refuses to admit he so desperately needs. Instead, he’s hired her to keep an eye on the employees at his exclusive new nightclub. But Coop’s life might be in danger, and Piper’s determined to protect him, whether he wants it or not. (Hint: Not!) If only she weren’t also dealing with a bevy of Middle Eastern princesses, a Pakistani servant girl yearning for freedom, a teenager who just wants to fit in, and an elderly neighbor demanding Piper find her very dead husband.

And then there’s Cooper Graham himself, a legendary sports hero who always gets what he wants—even if what he wants is a feisty detective hell bent on proving she’s as tough as he is.

From the bustling streets of Chicago to a windswept lighthouse on Lake Superior to the glistening waters of Biscayne Bay, two people who can’t stand to lose will test themselves and each other to discover what matters most.

  1. Leigh Kramer says:

I had a hard time putting First Star I See Tonight down but yes, it’s super problematic and not one I’d recommend.

Love Lettering, on the other hand, is magnificent and catapulted its way to become one of my all-time favorite novels.

  2. Kris Bock says:

Kittens and Kisses at the Cat Café: A Furrever Friends Sweet Romance is .99 until 3/24. It’s a purrfect comfort read!

When someone leaves a box of week-old kittens at the café, can Adam, Marley, and her son save the kittens and find a future together?

It’s book 2 of the series but can stand alone, and all the books are in KU.

I picked up Love Lettering on Apple Books for the $2.99 sale price. Thanks!

  4. Kris O says:

Love Lettering was wonderful. I stayed up until 3am finishing it with no regrets the next day.

  5. Qualisign says:

Loved “Love Lettering” but am thoroughly over main characters that stop people on the street with their beauty (H in this case). Otherwise, it was excellent.

  6. Yaara says:

I bought the SEP book at full price and was severely disappointed. I don’t think it’s worth getting at any price really.
