Help A Bitch Out - SOLVED!

HaBO: Historical Romance Trilogy with Three Brothers

You did it! We figured this one out! It is a truth universally acknowledged (by me for certain) that the Bitchery pretty much knows everything, and really, it's true. Scroll down to see the solution for this HaBO - and many thanks!

This HaBO request is from Marlene, who is looking for a historical romance series:

This is a trilogy. It starts with  the oldest of 3 brothers, and in each of the first two books, one of his brothers ends up with the girl.

The second one, I think, had the brother, who was lost and presumed dead, return after having run away to America. The heroine, I think, was the unacknowledged daughter of a Lord, her mother had just died, and she was living with the mother’s actress friend. This actress friend dressed her for the ball in the first chapter – the one where she aims to catch the eye of this titled oldest brother, the younger brother comes storming in, and she falls for the younger brother.

The third book is finally the oldest brother’s story. Turns out he is a virgin. His heroine is a divorcee or some other not-quite-“pure” woman (not sure if she is a “lady”). He may have contracted with her to lose his virginity and then falls in love with her.

These books probably came out in the past 10 years or so.

We’ve already suggested Courtney Milan’s Turner series, but Marlene said that wasn’t it. Back to the drawing board!

Could it be the Thorne Brothers trilogy by Jo Goodman? The details aren’t right on, but some similarities.

  2. Paige Nieto says:

Sounds like Danelle Harmon’s De Montforte brother series?

  3. michy says:

Cathy Maxwell’s Marrying the Duke series? Some of the details don’t quite match, but there is a virgin Duke, and actress friend and a long-lost brother.

Come on Bitchery, momma needs a new set of books!

    Sounds so familiar.

  6. B says:

This strongly sounds like Cathy Maxwell’s Marrying The Duke series. Some details are a little blurry, also this was just from two or three years back.

I agree with Bianca about Cathy Maxwell’s series! here’s the synopsis for the 2nd book ” The Fairest Of Them All”: The penniless orphan of a disreputable earl, Lady Charlene Blanchard thrives on the adventure of picking the pockets of unsavory gentlemen to survive. But due to her extraordinary beauty and prized bloodlines, she is hand chosen as a potential bride for the duke of Baynton, who is on the hunt for a suitable wife to provide heirs. All Char has to do is act the part she was born to play and charm a duke she’s never laid eyes on into proposing. Except the duke turns out to be the tall, dark, and sexy stranger who just caught her red-handed as a thief!

Or is he? Jack Whitridge is the duke’s twin who had “gone missing” over 10 years ago. Now back in England, he knows that the supposed lady who has his brother’s love is hardly duchess material – except he needs her to save his adopted country from war. He is willing to bargain with her heart – until he finds himself falling for Char… the twin Duke is the virgin in the 3rd book!.

Courtney Milan’s Turner series? I don’t remember the plots at all, but your description made me think of it.

Oh I missed the last sentence. My bad! All blame to my terrible fire tablet
