It has been driving me nuts that I can’t remember the title of this book. It is a contemporary interracial romance. The hero is white and the the heroine is African-American.
They meet when she is out celebrating, either having finished law school or taking the bar exam. He is a rookie football player out partying with friends. They meet at a bar/club, and he is immediately smitten by her. She at first turns him down, but he, of course, doesn’t give up, and hangs out with her “helping” pick out a candidates for a one-night stand. Eventually, they end up hooking up and they go back to her place.
In the morning, he takes a photo of her while she is sleeping before leaving without waking her up. Though he finds it hard to leave, he does because one of the older players had advised him to not take things too seriously too fast — a decision he later regrets deeply.
Years go by, and he becomes a successful quarterback. Through the years, every time he upgrades his phone, he makes sure her picture is saved in his new phone. Eventually, he tattoos her face in his chest. It apparently it’s pretty tastefully done. Through fateful circumstances (of course), years later (maybe 5 years), they end up in the same city. She, as a successful lawyer, working with athletes, and he, as the new hot quarterback.
Through her work connections, she and her small daughter (who is the result of the one-night stand), end up in the same event, and upon seeing her and her daughter, he realizes the little girl is his daughter because she looks so much like him. He begins to pursue her, and though they encounter some complications, they do end up happily ever after.
Please, please help me find out the name of this book. I think it is fairly recent.

I have no idea, but I so want to read this book!!
This is one of those scenarios that I read in a book and go “awwww” and then think, “oh my god, if my one-night stand tattooed my face on him I would run screaming in the other direction.” But I still totally want to read this book and will probably still swoon when I read it.
I’m with Liz – I really want to read this! I keep checking back because I know there is a romance reader who knows this one.
