Favorite Romance Fanfiction

Fanfiction has been mentioned several times on the site, and one of the best Smart Podcast Trashy Books episodes I’ve been a part of was our episode on shipping: 320. Deep Diving into our OTPs with Amanda, Elyse, and Sarah.

I started reading fanfiction in high school. It was a good way to read romance, about characters that I loved, without having to spend my meager allowance. I even wrote some, but they’re long since abandoned.

When Sarah asked for me to talk about some of my favorite fanfics in recent history, I jumped at the chance. However, fanfiction is incredibly subjective, as whatever ship I’m into might not be one that you’re into. That’s okay!

The fics below are either Draco/Hermione related from Harry Potter or Rey and Kylo Ren related from Star Wars. Sorry not sorry.

Completed

The Politician’s Wife by pir8fancier (Draco/Hermione)

This story is set twenty-three years after the fall of Voldemort. Our main characters are Ministry employees, middle-aged, and the majority of them not very happy.

This is an older fic, but what I really loved about this is that the characters have aged and they’re dealing with the realization that their life isn’t what they thought it would be. It’s quite different than the over the top, rather smutty fics I tend to read.

Everything to Prove by crossingwinter (Rey/Kylo Ren)

“The show,” he says. “It’s probably best if they don’t—if we don’t—”

And Rey follows his line of thought at once. For all the program is one that doesn’t seem melodramatic—the height of drama in previous seasons came from someone’s cake falling over and that was about it—she does not doubt that the producers and cameramen would leap at the opportunity to make there be something out of nothing in their relationship—especially if there was something out of something.

“Yeah,” she agrees. “Yeah, probably. We can pick baking stations that are…” but she doesn’t want to complete the thought. She likes baking next to Ben.

“Or we can just be careful?” he suggests, sounding quite as pained by the prospect as Rey feels.

“Yeah, careful. I can do careful,” Rey says at once and her lips are on his again and he’s laughing now, and she’s laughing, and she didn’t think laughter would be part of all this. She didn’t think it could be. But here she is, laughing and kissing and holding a man who, at some point, she’s going to want to beat.

She does her best not to think of that now.

It’s a friendly competition, after all.

It’s not life and death.

It’s baking.

I need to give a shout out to my lovely friend, Kay Taylor Rea. She’s the one who sent me this fic and if you’re ever looking for recommendations, you need to follow her on Twitter. She’s fantastic.

This is a Reylo fic set in an alternate universe (AU) of a baking competition. It’s only one chapter and not too heavy on the angst, but has an adorable secret relationship element.

Ongoing/Abandoned

Wild by MoonandWinter (Draco/Hermione)

They had expected her to take an office job at the ministry, to settle down and live a quiet life. It seemed they all forgot she was, in fact, a Gryffindor who craved knowledge. Draco felt a shame unlike anything before. On his shoulders sat the disgrace he and his family earned. A chance encounter one could very well call fate brings these two together. What happens next, no one could have predicted.

This one hasn’t been updated since last February, but such is the downside of reading fanfic. My favorite tag for this fic is “Angst and Fluff and Smut,” which ticks all my dang boxes.

Steer from the Passenger Side by NewerConstellations (Rey/Kylo Ren)

Kylo suddenly hears cursing outside the window of the diner. Cute, feminine cursing.

Pulled over on the side of the road in front of the diner is a green Jeep with wood panelling, and yelling at the car as if it has done something personal to her is a small slip of a girl in cut off shorts and cowboy boots.

He can’t do anything but stare.

As she stretches to reach under the hood, one long leg sticks out behind her for counter-balance, like a ballerina on the stage. Kylo licks his lips as he tracks the length of tan, smooth skin leading up to her round ass sitting above the grill like a cupcake on a platter. Then she’s quickly back up to standing again, whipping her long, brown hair over her shoulder to reveal a gorgeous, smooth face.

He’s absolutely mesmerized.

——

Orphan Rey has never seen a sunset that wasn’t set over sand. She fixes up an old Jeep Woody and heads to California on Route 66. When the Jeep breaks down outside of Albuquerque, tall, dark stranger Kylo Ren offers to pay her for a lift. As the temperature rises between them, they run west to escape their ghosts, together.

I first heard about this fic after seeing some gorgeous fanart going around on Twitter by one of my favorite Reylo fanartists. (I own some of Elithien’s art and it’s gorgeous.) It’s a road trip romance and has a guaranteed HEA, according to the fic’s tags.

Those are my current fic loves and the beauty of fanfiction is that there is always some rabbit hole for you to go down. Many authors have multiple works or you can take a peek at fics they’ve read and loved. Seriously, say goodbye to free time.

What fandoms do you read fanfiction for? Who are you favorite writers or pairings?

♥️♥️♥️ and bookmarked those Dramione fics for later lol

  2. Laura says:

Harry Potter for me, also — but primarily Harry/Ginny, Remus/Tonks, and thanks to Loten’s Post Tenebras Lux, one of my all-time favourite fics, adult!Hermione/Snape.

  3. fairywine says:

Shout out to Owlet’s Infinite Coffee and Protection Detail series, which starts out as focusing on the Stucky relationship in all the complications it has acquired post Captain America:the Winter Soldier with the romantic undertones being more sub-textual in the first story This, You Protect. (As Bucky is recovering from severe PTSD all while secretly protecting Steve, taking it slow is pretty understandable). It makes the journey all the more satisfying when they finally graduate to full romance by Upgrade: Advance Happiness Skills. Highly, highly recommended for Stucky lovers as well as anyone who appreciates a nuanced and thoughtful take on mental health and trauma recovery.

On the Lighter side of things, I also really love RedBlazer’s I Understood That Reference for slightly AU Stucky where Cap has his usual backstory but Bucky was born as a normal civilian in the modern age. Featuring bi!librarian!Bucky bc this fic was clearly written for me personally.

  4. Claudia says:

I haven’t been reading/writing fanfic in a while but I really want to get back to it! My Favorite ships to read and write are Sirius/Remus, Cas/Dean and Arthur/Merlin. I also loved shorter House/Wilson, and McKay/Sheppard fics. I have a couple of longer series I abandoned *weeps*

  5. KateB says:

My current ship is Quentin/Eliot on The Magicians (this season is trying to MURDER ME) and even though it’s canon, and even though the show is incredible, the fandom, or at least that on AO3, seems pretty small. There are fewer than 1,500 fics listed under the show.

Can anybody rec me a fic for that pairing?

And/or Call Me By Your Name? You’d think I’d be over it by now, but I’m not!

  6. fairywine says:

Oops, forgot to list my actual ships. Soooo many MCU ones (Pepperony, Starmora, etc) with Stucky reigning as king, Spideypool (comics, not TomHolland!Spidey bc age). Austria/Hungary, along with Sweden/Finland and Denmark/Norway is a large part of the reason I STILL can’t quit Hetalia even if the fandom is a fraction of what it used to be. Mike/Eleven from Stranger Things is one of the most beautifully executed and believable romances I’ve ever seen, and those kids deserve all the awards for absolutely nailing it. Even with how things ended I’ll never lose my Han/Leia soft spot-my first real OTP. Same with Sakura/Syaoran from Cardcaptor Sakura, which hasn’t lost its ability to absolutely punch my heart back in time to my early teens with sheer feels. This also goes for Kyou/Tohru from Fruits Basket, the upcoming reboot of which is probably going to annihilate me. Zutara, even with my total disdain for the way A:TLA’s showrunners regards fandom, as well as their inability to satisfyingly tie up a relationship arc and how things wrapped up. Mary/Dickson from the Secret Garden-you will never be able to convince me this didn’t end up happening. Anne/Gilbert from Anne of Green Gables is just so *clutches chest* FEELS.

And of course always and forever, Elizabeth and Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. 😉

  7. hng23 says:

Spike! with Buffy Tara Willow Faith, and especially Xander. He’s the Little Black Dress of fanfic: he goes with everybody. Except Angel, a character I loathe with the heat of a thousand fiery suns.

  8. Emily C says:

I too discovered fanfic in college, but that was the late 90’s and he early days of the Internet. I’m not sure ‘fanfiction’ was particularly mainstream yet. I do remember discovering the vast world of X-Files fandom and spending many many late nights reading on my laptop. Scully and Mulder, with their deep respect and love for each other was my first and still favorite ship.

  9. Lisa says:

Ah, Spuffy And Xfiles fanfic. I adored that stuff.

  10. anna says:

oh, how obsessed with spike/angel fanfic i was back in the day! now it’s all supernatural fanfic, all the time. occasionally destiel (cas/dean) but mostly wincest (sam/dean). why yes, i am depraved.

  11. K.N.O’Rear says:

I don’t read fanfic often, but recently I dove into it a little for the show, Miraculous Ladybug. The reasons being that I love the set-up of the show and the themes that the creators touch upon, but they tend to almost always stick to the status quo and put less effort into it than they should into it because “it’s a kid’s show”. The Miraculous Ladybug fandom actually handles the themes better than the creators.

I would also like to recommend the YouTube channel Shipper’s Guide to the Galaxy which talks a lot about shipping and fandom in a really engaging manner.

  12. Kristin says:

When I was in college, I read the most amazing fanfiction I have ever read. It’s for Labyrinth, it’s called “A Forfeit of Dreams,” and it’s by KL Morgan. (Look for it on A03). It’s not just the best fanfic I’ve read, it’s one of the best novels I’ve read. It expands on the source material in a really elegant way. The romance starts slow but it’s absolutely wonderful.

I’m also quite enamored of Phantom of the Opera fics, and one of the best is “Volee” by VeroniqueClaire. She calls it a modern au jet-set remix and it is exactly that. Fantastic character growth, exciting plot, just one of the absolute greatest.

  13. Spent 10 years in fandom and churned out Spuffy fanfic like it was my job. Was one of the original founders of Elysian Fields, which is (I think) the lone surviving Spuffy archive (unless The Spuffy Realm is actually still active).

Actually returned to fandom last year to finish some of my WIPs. It’s slow going, but I’ve missed it.

  14. Mekaela says:

I usually read for what I’m watching on TV at the time, but here are my all time favorites 🙂

Catch Your Voice by lavvyan (MCU – Phil Coulson/Clint Barton):
    https://archiveofourown.org/works/562078

I’ve Got Nothing to do Today but Smile by gyzyn (Inception AU – Arthur/Eames):
    https://archiveofourown.org/works/135867

Heaven Sent the Saints Down (Hell Sent Them Up) by Ambrosia (MCU – Karen Page/Frank Castle):
    https://archiveofourown.org/works/6299413/chapters/14435479

  15. Helen says:

Three fave fics from three fave writers:

Rule Number Nine by DevilDoll (MCU, Steve/Darcy) is sooo romantic. I was crying and grinning at the end.

Single Use Weapon by Fahye (Kings, David/Jack). Gripping plot. Great female characters. Hot.

A Marital Education by Yahtzee (P&P, Darcy/Lizzy). Moving, sweet, sexy, funny. Made me fall in love with these two all over again.

  16. Jill Q. says:

    Well,
    *Cracks knuckles*
I’m pretty indiscriminate fanfic reader. I love tropey fake relationship/sharing a bed type fics (hello romance roots!) and I will read that in fandoms I only have a nodding acquaintance with if something about the pairing intrigues me. Some examples I can think of our Jamie/Brienne in Game of Thrones (a series I don’t like) and Tim/Dawn from UK office (So little fic! So sad!). I will also follow a fanfic author I trust into their new fandoms.

I feel like Mulder/Scully, Sports Night (Casey/ Dana), Buffy/Spike and Cupid fanfiction really got me into the fanfic world and I browse around and wander away, but I always come back to the broad genre. One interesting pairing I got into recently was Peralta/Santiago from Brooklyn 99. I enjoyed the show, but I couldn’t but Jake Peralta as a romantic interest until I consciously chose to read the pairing and see how fanfic authors fleshed him out in a way the show writers had not.

I love to just browse on Archive of Our Own, rank a pairing’s stories by kudos and binge read.

  17. Lisa F says:

Thank you so, so much for doing a podcast on Fanfiction!

  18. Amy K says:

The fanfic I like is the stuff that’s far from canon. Pairings that would never have happened (I’m looking at you Harry/Severus or you Legolas/Aragorn). I don’t find the stories that are close to the real thing interesting to read because the source material is always better. So, I go for the nutty stuff. Snape:The Home Fries Nazi comes to mind.

  19. Janice says:

I’m a big fan of modern AUs for historical romances (along with any fanfic of romances). There are many fabulous modern retellings of some of the Bridgertons that readers might enjoy: four stories in “The Bridgertons Play Hockey” series that bring the character dynamics forward into the 21st century and a modern AU of Heyer’s Devil’s Cub a thing with feathers which is perfect and amazing!

  20. Jackie says:

I’m also a big fan of Hermione/Draco retellings, although I have a bad habit of not saving the authors I like consistently 🙁 I’ll pretty much read anything though as long as they’re not a ton of spelling/grammar mistakes (I know, I know, it just gets me) Also a big manga fan and enjoy retellings and/or imaginings of some of my favorite series, like Sailor Moon (Usagi+Mamoru forever). Might have to check out some new fanfic about P&P and other series after this thread though!

  21. Lil says:

This is my time! Seek And Ye Shall Find by imaginarygolux is my absolute favourite jedistormpilot fic (Jedistormpilot is the OTP(3) of my heart but there isn’t a lot of fic that I read in it because it means so much to me. Some others.

-I love SecondStarOnTheLefts Game of Thrones fic because she writes the ladies so so amazingly well (my current favourite one is You And I Conspire & Split The Ground which is probably more family than romance orientated but it does definitely have a major romance element).
-We Sang Of Roses by FeuillesMortes is a modern day Elizabeth of York/Henry VII slow burn romance fic in which they are flatmates! And it’s so great! And a gorgeous love letter to London as well.
-My other favourites are all Tudors AUs of various kinds (TV show based but with a lot of historical things) so I won’t list them but wow SO MANY FEELINGS thank you James Frain and Natalie Dormer 😉

  22. Fairytalegirl says:

Ah, fanfiction! The thing that finally made me cast aside my internalised misogyny and admit that I loved romantic plotlines the best.

I must rec Black Tide by phainopepla – a Rey/Kylo Ren fic I love devotedly despite having never seen a Star War. Read it for the quasi-sentient planets! (Sadly unfinished, but I can live with where it stops)

    https://archiveofourown.org/works/13271934?view_full_work=true

  23. Kristen says:

I’ve only recently started reading fanfic (just after the podcast in fact!) and I almost exclusively read Dramione. Although clearly there’s a whole world of fanfic to delve into – Sports Night! I loved that show. Magnificent Ladybug – absolutely ripe for fanfic now that you mention it. Pride & Prejudice! So thanks for the recs.

Anyhow here are a couple of my favorites
    The Seduction by SenLinYu https://archiveofourown.org/works/15766221
I think the summary is the best description –
“Hermione,” he said in a strained voice, ”please don’t take offense by how blunt I’m about to be, but I’m honestly afraid that if I explain this with any type of subtlety it will somehow continue to elude you.”

Hermione’s expression grew indignant but Draco ignored it and pressed on.

“I am trying to seduce you,” he said, staring her straight in the eye. Her indignation faded as her mouth dropped open and her eyes slowly grew round.

He continued, “I have been trying to seduce you for over two years; ever since I first brought up the idea of our having a book club together.”

The Right Thing To Do by LovesBitca8 https://archiveofourown.org/works/11472648
Oh my the ANGST, the YEARNING, the FEELS in this one!

And, this one isn’t strictly speaking romance fanfic (although Harry & Ginny do end up together) but I just love it – I particularly love Hermione’s reaction – it’s so in character
the girl who lived (again) by dirgewithoutmusic
    https://archiveofourown.org/works/7900501
(all of the works in this series are amazing)

  24. Not That Anne, The Other Anne says:

I’m so glad we’re discussing fanfic! Some of it is awful, but a lot of it is amazingly written, and it’s written purely out of interest in something. It’s made me much more discerning in what I’m willing to read and especially what I’m willing to pay for.

Thanks for the recs, everyone! Not all of them were my ships, but that’s what’s cool about fanfic — there’s literally something for everyone.

I will, in turn, rec Sansukh by Determammfidd – a retelling of LOTR from the perspective of Thorin (who is not quite as dead as he seems). It’s Bilbo/Thorin and Gimli/Legolas, ultimately.

If anyone likes heavy character backstory fic, Paonia’s Quo Vadis explores Daniel Sousa’s journey from his injury before Agent Carter to his start at the SSR.

  25. EC Spurlock says:

I’m not one to read fanfic on a regular basis these days, simply for lack of time, but once in a while I just need some. Came across this Reylo continuing soap recently and enjoyed it a lot despite the OOC moments: https://archiveofourown.org/works/14747840/chapters/34097741
I just love the idea of the two of them on patrol together.

Also this, set in the world of competitive figure skating: https://archiveofourown.org/works/8990419/chapters/20541484

  26. Lindsay Myers says:

My sister recently got me into Sherlock fanfic and while Johnlock is the obvious ship she has COMPLETELY converted me to Mycroft/Lestrade YOU WILL NOT REGRET THIS I PROMISE

    https://archiveofourown.org/series/9540

  27. Lindsay Myers says:

@amyk my sister has been a LONGTIME snarry fan which I have resisted for, not kidding, 15 years but dammit she got me with snape the home fries nazi, remains the only snarry fic i have read but I had to admit, it was good.

  28. Lindsay says:

Okay, I was so excited to share Mycroft/Lestrade I didn’t say anything else! I started reading star wars fanfic via yahoo groups (REMEMBER WHEN?) in the 00s. Then I got roped into harry potter. I was a Harry/Hermione shipper for a long time until I switched to Harry/Draco and have never looked back. (Harry and Ginny will never be right to me, it’s just not!) I think only HP fanfic consumers of 1999-2006 can TRULY appreciate the genius of Rainbow Rowell’s Fangirl and Carry On.

One more plug for the Mycrot/Lestrade story linked below- it’s a very slow burn story with lots of great musical references. The characters are SO well drawn and lovely. I loved this story so much that I podficced* it- and the final product is 16 hours long, so that should tell you something about how much I love it!

    https://archiveofourown.org/series/9540

*I only recently learned this is a thing- audio versions of fanfic! WHO KNEW??

  29. Lisa W. says:

Ok, so I revealed that my OTP is Buffy/Giles in the comment section of the review for Kiersten White’s new “Slayer” novel – and at least four of you liked it! So it’s no surprise that I read B/G fanfic (after Buffy turns 18) and this is honestly the best BtVS story I’ve ever read.

It’s called The Transformations Trilogy by Sema (who used to use a different pen name) and I’ve always hoped that they are out there somewhere publishing their own work – because I would buy it!

This story is for YOU if your favorite season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was Season 3. Buffy turns 18 in Season 3 (episode “Helpless”) but in this fanfic, she and Giles don’t even kiss until Chapter 7. So of course you can stop reading – but hopefully you’ll be hooked!

  30. Scifigirl1986 says:

Back when I was in high school, I used to write Alias fanfic and actually had quite a following on one of the boards. I dtarted writing it because I hated how the 2nd season ended and I thought I could do a better job than they did.

I also started a Charmed/Roswell fic as part of a writing challenge between seasons 3 and 4 (when Pru was killed and Paige brought in). The plot was that Liz Parker from Roswell was the ling lost Halliwell sister and that Shax, the demon that killed Pru, was trying to find her to break the Power of Three for good.

I haven’t read any in a long time, but the ones I remember the most were a Spuffy fic about Buffy and Spike being stranded on an island and fallibg for each other (this is before the writers went there with the characters in season 6) and a Luke and Lorelai one.

  31. Annamal says:

I was quite enjoying MsBrooklyn’s assembly line mcu/marvel series (which features captain America recruiting avengers and a lot of Peter Parker attempting to dodge his seemingly endless bad luck (which is very true to the source material). Mid-way through the series she introduced Jessica Jones and wrote an amazing chemistry between her and Bucky (which given their various traumas is very slow moving).

Two screwed up characters with similar terrible experiences makes for an awesome story.

    https://archiveofourown.org/works/5403791/chapters/12483740

  32. SusanH says:

@Kristin – Thank you for suggesting “A Forfeit of Dreams”! It was such a satisfying continuation of Labyrinth. I’ve actually never read fanfic before, but that story could possibly make me a convert. It was so, so good.

  33. Kristin says:

    @SusanH

I’m so glad you read it! It’s really amazing.

  34. Cassandra says:

My long time OTP were Scully and Mulder and Buffy and Spike, but a more recent fandom was Captain Swan (Emma Swan and Captain Hook) from Once Upon a Time. Here are some favorites from that fandom. All are on the spicy side.

Everyday I Write the Book by msgenevieve https://archiveofourown.org/works/1703633 Canon divergent set between seasons 3 and 4. Lovely characterization.

Her Walking in a Straight Line is also amazing if you like modern AU and a friends to lovers story. https://archiveofourown.org/works/3141827

The Trouble with Faking it by nowforruin https://archiveofourown.org/works/3878953 Modern AU with fake dating and tons of angst.

Beyond the Horizon by Alexandra Lyman https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10354229/1/Beyond-the-Horizon A full on pirate/princess story. Not complete but regular updates.

And Beyond Heaven and Hell by the same author. Eternal struggle between an angel and a demon. https://archiveofourown.org/works/3239750 Also not complete but regular updates

What We Wouldn’t Do by sambethe https://archiveofourown.org/works/6207703 Modern AU friends to lovers.

A Somewhat Terrible Idea by randomsquare https://archiveofourown.org/works/13882350 Modern AU and fake dating.

I’m also looking for recs for Jily (Lily Potter/James Potter) in the HP fandom. Young and doomed gets to me every time. Plus, I was a 70s kid so I enjoy that time period.

  35. everynowandagain says:

    Fanfiction! <3

I enjoy Phantom of the Opera, Labyrinth, Lord of the Rings, and King Arthur / Mists of Avalon.

Some of my favourite Phantom fics: "Tightrope" by Chapucera, "Volee" by VeroniqueClaire, and "Kristina: A Fantasy" by stefanie bean. All are Erik/Christine.

In the Labyrinth fandom, ViciouslyWitty's "Tanglewood" is gorgeous.

  36. nagarajas says:

I have to reccomend Thirty-Eight days and Counting by thecommodore_squid. It’s a Stucky (Steve Rogers/ Bucky Barnes) Modern AU. Some scary plot happens so mind the warning tags. Bucky is in Witness Protection. Steve is the Agent assigned to protect him by pretending to be married to him. They have to share a bed. There is mutual pining while the fake marriage bed sharing is going on. It’s the trifecta of catnip.

For hot consensual tentacle sex with only a little murder try No Sacrifice Required by cleo4u2 and xantissa. Hydra attempts to sacrifice Bucky to Tentacle God Steve. Steve’s not into it, but is into Bucky.

I’d also like to reccomend two Phil Coulson / Clint Barton (or Phlint, or BowTie a ship built on 3 seconds of dialogue and one of the best for novel length adventures) by amireal.

In I, Phil, Phil gets turned into a woman via *science* and picks Clint to have sex with as a way to sate curiosity. The two part series deals with them falling in love, gender dysphoria, and some very realistic and sane advice from their friends about navigating the world as a woman.

In “It’s not the Fall” Phil has a really good date with Clint and then 1. Realizes it is a date and 2. Realizes that he’s gay. It’s a very slow take on self exploration and coming out when you’re middle aged.

  37. Bea says:

Not quite romance, but there’s post-romance angst, grief, mourning, friendly sex and, of course, Vorkosigans.
Crossover between NuWho and Bujold’s Vorkosigan series, where Cordelia joins the Tenth Doctor on trips after Aral’s death. This was written before Cryoburn AND before Gentleman Jole and the Red Queen, so it’s been Jossed… but the author Sure Does Get Cordelia spot on.
    https://archiveofourown.org/series/1291
    my favorite line(s):
“Do you think that it’s possible – just possible – that your semi-immortality may have given you a skewed perspective on the subject?”

He blinked at her. She sighed to herself. This would teach her to wander the TARDIS in the middle of a sleep cycle. “From the moment I met and fell in love with Aral, I knew this is where I would be some day; he was ten years older and he came from a planet with a life expectancy forty years shorter than my own. If you think you’re the only person to have ever loved someone knowing you would lose them – well, think again. Death follows everyone, Doctor.”

  39. Ms. M says:

I was never a HUGE reader of fanfiction, but I did enjoy Spike-centered fics in high school. By good fortune, I stumbled across Carrie’s epic novel Take Your Time. I thought it was just something I liked, but it has an entry on Fanlore <3 It's beautiful and amazing, but don't start unless you have time for it.

  40. Leanne H. says:

I love that the Bitchery is on this topic. I love fanfiction and have since the early 2000s when HP was in its prime. Fanfiction taught me how to analyze literature (I was on the FictionAlley boards A LOT), how to write, and how to love romance. 🙂

When I heard the OTP podcast, I was like, “Amanda and I have the same taste.” I love Reylo, Sarah/Jareth… the only way we differ is that I’m all about Draco/Ginny and Dramione is my Notp.

I also love Merthur (Merlin/Arthur from BBC Merlin), Kirk/Spock, and Fitzsimmons from Agents of SHIELD. Also Remus/Sirius – how could I forget?

Fanfiction has brought so many great people into my life, one of whom is crossingwinter! I’m so pleased to see her on this list! I highly recommend the fic on here and her many others as well.

I wish I could be more coherent about this. I guess the one feeling I have about fanfiction that I’d want to get across is that it empowers fans in such interesting and wonderful ways. Don’t see your m/m ship becoming canon? That’s okay. You can fix it. I hope that canon catches up sometimes, honestly. There are so many talents fanworkers our there.

    Thanks for including this, SBTB!
