Raw Redemption by Tessa Bailey is 99c! This is the fourth book in the Crossing the Line series, though it can be read as a standalone. Readers loved the forbidden relationship aspect and I can vouch that Bailey writes some great sex scenes. However, others felt there was too much sex and it happened at the most unrealistic of times.

Despite the description, readers say the hero is a pretty great dad and less of a jerk than the copy suggests. Other readers had some problems connecting with the heroine. This romance has a 3.7-star rating on Goodreads.

The Beautiful Ashes by Jeaniene Frost is $1.99! This is the first book in her new Broken Destinyseries, which is a New Adult paranormal romance/urban fantasy. Some readers mentioned having some confusion as they weren’t sure if Frost was trying to write something similar to New Adult, young adult, or a straight adult urban fantasy. However, others thought the blend of action and suspense balanced well with the romantic aspects. I’m sure some Bitchery members have read this one. What do you think?

The hero of Beautiful Ashes looks so drunk that he’s having to be held up by the heroine…who isn’t too pleased about it. 🙂
The Drunken Botanist is fantastic. I bought it for my sister, who is an avid gardener, and she adored it so much that I bought a copy for myself. Stewart has a really engaging writing style and a way of conveying information that really sticks with me. I finished the book in record time and immediately bought Wicked Plants as a follow-up, which is good, but not as great as The Drunken Botanist.
Also, LOL at MirandaB’s observation! I didn’t really notice until you pointed it out, but you’re totally right. Dude looks like he’s three seconds from passing out.

I also have the Drunken Botanist book and love it. I bought a few more to put into gift bags this year.
Amy Stewart, who wrote The Drunken Botanist, also writes the Kopp Sisters series of historical fiction/mysteries. Her writing is fun no matter the genre.
And may I point out, as G.K. Chesterton once did, that booze is vegetarian-appropriate … vegan even.
