RECOMMENDED: An Academic Affair by Jodi McAlister is $2.99! Thank you to everyone who let us know about this one. Lara reviewed it and gave it a B+:
Overall, this is enemies-to-lovers done right with the best reason for a marriage of convenience that I’ve ever read. The sadness, though, is still sitting with me the next day. For me, that type of emotion in a book really lingers while the sharp emotional high of an HEA is over pretty quickly. So do take that into account when considering this book. Mileage might vary.
A Conspiracy in Belgravia by Sherry Thomas is $1.99! This is book two in the Lady Sherlock series, so if you’re looking to collect the series digitally, grab this one while you can.
TW/CW: The following post contains discussion of medical procedure, medical anxiety, and chronic illness. I just finished Private Arrangements by Sherry Thomas and it is easily an A+ book. The book took me by the hand and led me through some of the scariest days in my recent life. For the moments that I was reading that book, my external world, hell, even my internal world, was reshaped and replaced by a book so all-consuming … Continue reading This Started as a Review and Turned into Something Else…→
The Librarians by Sherry Thomas is $1.99! Sarah was super excited for this mystery release from Thomas. It features a crew of librarians trying to solve a murder that occurred in their library.
Happy Tuesday! This is the last release week in September before October hits. And wow, there are so many books next month. Things will most likely quiet down a bit for November and December. Are you excited for anything this week? Let us know in the comments!
Pride and Protest by Nikki Payne is $1.99! We featured this on a previous Hide Your Wallet. Payne has another contemporary, Jane Austen retelling: Sex, Lies and Sensibility.
The Summer Escape by Jill Shalvis is $1.99! I feel like Shalvis is one of the queens of small town romances. The cover is beautifully aspirational; I’m a sucker for mountains. This is book six in the Sunrise Cove series.
RECOMMENDED: People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry is $4.99 and a Kindle Daily Deal! I feel like Henry’s romances rarely go on sale. Carrie reviewed this one and gave it a B:
Because of the structure of the book, the focus on Poppy’s character growth, and the happy for now ending, I think readers will enjoy this book most if they approach it as romantic comedy. The banter alone makes this book a fun read, not to mention the locations and the supporting characters. Pack a bookmark and have a good time.
RECOMMENDED: Blood on the Tide by Katee Robert is $1.99! This is book two in the Crimson Sails series and Lara gave it a B+:
When I review books, I stop intermittently to jot down notes. With Katee Robert books, I get so immersed so quickly that I forget to take notes. The story sucks me in comprehensively and this book is no exception to that rule. If you’re interested in this series, definitely start with book one as the two are closely linked. I can heartily recommend both.
Happy Tuesday! We’re closing out the month rather strongly with ten releases we’re looking forward to! There are series continuations, retellings, and mysteries. The beginning of July looks packed with great books too! Which releases are you ready for? Let us know in the comments!
The Gentle Art of Fortune Hunting by KJ Charles is 99c! Thanks to everyone who let us know about this sale. Take note that it has a new cover and a new ISBN, so double check if you have this already. This book was almost recommend in two Rec Leagues: Papa Bears and No Bleak Moment.
