Kink Camp: Hunted by Adriana Anders is 99c! Big thank you to everyone who told us about this sale. I mentioned this on a previous Hide Your Wallet and seems like the perfect choice for just some quick, smutty reading. Have any of you read it yet?
Tokyo Ever After by Emiko Jean is $2.99! This has been featured on the side for both Book Beat and Hide Your Wallet. Definite Princess Diaries vibes here in the best way!
The Smoke Thief by Shana Abe is $3.99! This is the first book in Abe’s Drakon historical paranormal romance series. I really enjoyed this book and the world Abe created with dragons. The hero is definitely an Alpha hero and can be a jackass at times, which some readers found off-putting. But I went on to read the rest of the Drakon series.
Flare Up by Shannon Stacey is $1.99! This is a price-matched Kindle Daily Deal and part of the Boston Fire series. As the description notes, the heroine has some abuse in her backstory, which may or may not work for you as a reader. Personally, I am a little over it, but YMMV.
Happy Wednesday! (It is Wednesday, right?) Allergies and travel have me all out of sorts. A majority of these links are announcements, either site related or romance related. Listen, these posts can’t all be adorable animal things or interesting historical facts. … Berkley has announced its first “queer female romance” that will be released in print! Author Meryl Wilsner says that it’s a slow burn contemporary romance. You can find out more details here. … Update on … Continue reading Links: Announcements, a Kickstarter, & More→
RECOMMENDED: The Last Wolf by Maria Vale is $1.99! This sale is good through the 22nd. I really enjoyed this book and its departure from the usual shifter mythology. Vale does a great job creating a sense of place. Be warned though, there is violence in the book and it is very descriptive. The next book is also discounted.
Elyse: I really enjoyed this book (hence the one day read) mostly because it focuses on a period in time I find really interesting and have read a lot about, but also because it stars a woman who wasn’t well-known to history.
The Trouble with True Love by Laura Lee Guhrke is $1.99! Carrie read this historical romance and gave it a B grade:
I would consider this to be a almost perfect (but not quite, hence the B grade) comfort read. Good food, good clothes, lovely settings, lovely characters, lots and lots of feminism – that’s my jam!
RECOMMENDED: Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier is $2.99! I have such incredibly fond memories of this book. My best friend and I read this together in high school, but my school library only had one copy, so I had to wait my turn. It’s a lovely fantasy novel with some romance, but be warned that it’s a slow, slow burn.
I had such a good old time reading this book. There were some flaws to the plot but while reading it, I was charmed and giggly and totally absorbed. This book made me happy. That’s probably the best way to put it: it made me smile. A lot. Books like this are why I read romance.
