RECOMMENDED: A Duke by Default by Alyssa Cole is $1.99! We read this for my book club and we all agreed there wasn’t enough blacksmithing and sword-making. Carrie enjoyed this one and gave it an A-:
This is such a solid book – it’s tear-jerking, it’s inspiring, it’s sexy and romantic, it’s interesting (sword history!) and it’s funny. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

The Briar Club by Kate Quinn is $1.99! Quinn writes some great historical fiction and this one came out over the summer. We featured it on Hide Your Wallet. I can also understand if reading about McCarthyism feels a little too much right now.
A Jingle Bell Mingle by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone is $1.99! This is book three in the Christmas Notch holiday romance series. It also came out in September, so a relatively recent release.
Topaz by Beverly Jenkins is $1.99! This is an earlier Jenkins historical. Readers loved the heroine, a tenacious reporter! Have you read this one?
Heartbreaker by Sarah MacLean is $1.99! This is book two in the Hell’s Belles series. It also appears to be a road trip romance, which I happen to enjoy!
Half a Soul by Olivia Atwater is $2.99! This is book one in the Regency Faerie Tales series and subsequent books in the series were listed in latest Hide Your Wallet. There’s another YA vs. Adult debate for this one as well. I believe there is no sexual content in this one.
