Lord Holt Takes a Bride by Vivienne Lorret is $1.99! This is the first book in The Mating Habits of Scoundrels series. I’m super curious about this one because it seems to take the kidnapping trope and flip it; the heroine’s friends kidnap the hero and it seems the heroine has to smooth things over. RECOMMENDED: Tempest by Beverly Jenkins is $1.99! This is the third book in the Old West series, but it can be read out of order. Elyse read this one and gave it an A-:
If you want a lot of emotional angst in your romance, then Tempest is not for you. If you’re looking for an amazing heroine, a great backdrop and a lot of action, then definitely pick this up.
The Virgin and the Viscount by Charis Michaels is $1.99! This is a second chance romance between a heroine and a hero who rescued her at a young age. Some people thought the hero was a bit of an ass and since many loved the heroine, they desperately wished he was more deserving of her. It has a 3.9-star rating on Goodreads, and a bunch of other Michaels historicals are on sale!
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo is $2.99! This was described to me as a fantasy YA Ocean’s Eleven with heist hijinks. I’ve also heard that the audiobook is really good. A lot of readers say the book lived up to its hype. Some say it takes a while to get invested, but that it’s so worth it.
A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness is $1.99! This is the first book in the All Soul’s Trilogy. Many readers say this is a fantasy novel filled with romance and adventure. However, others didn’t like the characters and found the hype to be overrated. I know some of you loved this book, while others hated it, but I always love the discussion the Bitchery has in the comments.
Potent Pleasures by Eloisa James is 99c! This is James’ debut historical romance, if you’re looking to round out your James collection. Many readers really seem to dislike the hero, while others said this was an emotional rollercoaster that left them a bit misty-eyed. Have you read this one?
The Earl Next Door by Charis Michaels is 99c! This book came out a couple months ago and Elyse had picked it for March’s Hide Your Wallet post. Some readers mentioned that the book does have a slow start, but many loved the writing. Anyone interested in this?
RECOMMENDED: Yes, Please by Amy Poehler is $4.99 at most vendors! Which is kind of a steal, if you ask me! I talked about this book back in 2014 and how it was the right thing at the right time for me, as my depression had started to rear its ugly head again. While the memoir never gets too deep, admittedly, it’ll be sure to put a smile on your face.
