Six Wild Crowns by Holly Race is 99c! This is book one in a series. Elyse reviewed this and gave it a B:
This book is a wonderful reading experience. The setting, clothes and manners are all from a familiar enough place in time that it didn’t require a ton of world building, but Elben was still unique as a fantasy world. The action and the conflict were paced very well so the book grows in momentum. There’s also the “Earl has to die” plotline that I always appreciate.

Dearest Beast by Felicia Grossman
I am RIDDLED with flu and seem to have spent most of the weekend waiting for my flu meds to kick in. To pass the time, I picked up Dearest Beast and it did a very good job of distracting me from my revolting sinuses and aching body. Rebecca works as a midwife in London in the early 1800s. Our hero Roger’s truly horrific 9-year-old daughter Fannie sets fire to Rebecca’s workroom (and house) through … Continue reading Dearest Beast by Felicia Grossman
Cover Snark: Amazing Reader Submissions
Welcome back to Cover Snark! From Pam G: They only get one wing each? How does that work? Like a three-legged race, only a mile up in the air? What if her hair gets tangled in her feathers? Pleather Warehouse would go broke without them. Sarah: Maybe she has all those straps because they have to fly tethered together, as Pam G said, like a three legged race in the sky. Amanda: They all look … Continue reading Cover Snark: Amazing Reader Submissions

Whatcha Reading? June 2026, Part Two
Happy Saturday! June is coming to a close. Here’s what we’re reading right now: Lara: I’m reading a new-to-me Regency romance author: Rachel Griffiths. The book is called Just for the Season and so far it’s a delight. Not a lot of historical detail which is usually not for me, but the heroine has such verve and bite, that I’m a fan anyway. Full review coming! Claudia: Trying to continue with Amy Rose Bennett’s The … Continue reading Whatcha Reading? June 2026, Part Two
