I never thought I’d say this, but The Hellion’s Waltz is just too darn nice. This historical f/f romance is beautifully written and full of kind, courageous, intelligent characters. It is also boring.
This HaBO comes from M, who is looking for this older title: I probably read this in the early 90s. The main characters have known each other since childhood. The heroine’s widowed (I think) mother became the tutor for the young master of the house ( I think his name was Miles). Heroine was allowed to study alongside him. RECOMMENDED: Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik is $2.99! This is a sci-fi romance and I absolutely loved it. Be warned that it does have a bit of a pushy alpha hero. You can read my A- here:
I am so incredibly happy that this book is in the world, especially after feeling like I’ve exhausted all my sci-fi romance options. Polaris Rising is exciting. It’s funny. It’s fan-fucking-tastic. My quibbles are minor in comparison to the joyful Good Book Noises I made while reading this.
