Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses.Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my dress. Now begins the waiting game until it arrives, while I hem and haw over shoe choices. I’m thankful we’re eloping, so I don’t have to factor in the many hours I’ll need to be on my feet.

I mentioned this in the Hide Your Wallet comments yesterday, but SBTB Summer Romance Bingo will be returning this year. The bingo card will be revealed on Saturday and the official start is on June 20th. Plan accordingly!

If you’ve been looking for other places to shop for things that aren’t Amazon, Target, etc., I’ve found this IG account that lists other retailers for specific categories of items like Pride merch, kitchen gadgets, and more.

How cute are these bookshelf tavern signs? I’m also curious how many people organize their shelves by genre.

Another Instagram account that the algorithm served me: A Mug of Life. The account owner travels around England and offers to share a thermos of tea with strangers. If you love accounts like Humans of New York or Meet Cutes NYC, you may want to follow this one.

Bless this boyfriend and how confused he seemed by a diva cup.

Don’t forget to share what cool or interesting things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

Kathryn Ann Kingsley wrote a dark romantasy that might be triggering for arachnophobes: The Unseelie Exile (Web of Shadows Book 1). So she also released a second version: The Unseelie Exile: Arachnophobia Edition (Floof of Shadows Book 1).

    (both links to Amazon)

Floof of shadows. I am dead.

I’m one that organizes by genre. I have one for Urban Fantasy & Fantasy Romance, 2 for Historical Romance, 2 small ones for Paranormal Romance, 1 for mixed Special Editions (like kickstarter special), 1 for contemporary romance, 1 that has sci-fi romance & anthologies, 1 for manga comics and graphic novels and 1 for everything else (historical fiction, non-fiction, BtVS comics & fantasy). Let alone a small one in my craft room with craft books and a small two shelf one in the dining room for rpg and gaming books.

I organize by genre! Romance, poetry, YA, sci-fi, cookbooks, memoirs. It makes more sense to me than anything else. I cant remember titles or names enough to tell otherwise!

I’ve recently started to read “Ask a Manager” daily and I’ve been going through the site’s archives, too. In a collection of stories about mortifying things peaple did at work, a woman describes making a Fabio themed problem solving flow chart (number 4 at the link):
    https://www.askamanager.org/2022/07/mortification-week-the-rock-star-the-fabio-flowchart-and-other-stories-to-cringe-over.html
The best thing about this is that she includes a link to the flowchart itself (as I’m not sure about reposting contents from other sites without attributing where I got it from, I don’t want to include that link directly, but you will find it easily in the article I did link).

I don’t listen to music when I work because the lyrics in my head distract me. But I recently discovered that I can listen to podcasts (thanks, SB Sarah) and on YouTube I started listening to Tristan and the Classics. My favorite is his talk about first lines, and this week he introduced a new talk: 20 women who shaped literature before 1960, which included authors of works translated into English.

Loved the Fabio flow chart. For some reason, I now think I need a Dr. House flow chart for my work in the hospital. To include quotes such as “Symptoms never lie” which we could have used several times today in our NRP review. Or “tests take time, treatment’s quicker.” Being really tempted. Will revisit tomorrow when the heavy duty meds from my afternoon dental procedure have worn off.

Literary Creations by Jenny has cute book shelf signs which look like street signs, plus a lot of other book-related items, and she regularly has sales:

I do organize by genre. My categories are mystery, sci-fi, all other fiction, biographies/autobiographies, non-fiction, and I have a whole shelf of nature guides and gardening books.

  10. FConcolor says:

I tend to organize by fiction then author and non-fiction plus author. For ebooks, I start with read or unread, then do the same Astor paper books. I guess author names stick in my head.

    Astor= as for

If you feel like going quirky with your shoe choices, Irregular Choice shoes are a whole lot of fun and likely stand out from the rest of your shoe wardrobe. I got a pair for one of my wedding-related family events and loved them. Plus they come in the weird sizes I need. The link should be: https://www.irregularchoice.com/.

  13. Kareni says:

@Erin h: those are some seriously snazzy shoes!
