Help A Bitch Out - SOLVED!

HaBO: An Artist Who Loves Christmas

You did it! We figured this one out! It is a truth universally acknowledged (by me for certain) that the Bitchery pretty much knows everything, and really, it's true. Scroll down to see the solution for this HaBO - and many thanks!

This HaBO comes from Meghan, who wants to find this holiday romance:

I recently moved and lost a box of books which in itself is its own disaster, but I can’t remember the name or author of a particular book I was hoping to reread. It came out pre-2021, and most likely sometime after 2015 since I got it at a Walmart somewhere between 2017 and 2020. It’s a contemporary romance, part of a series that I wish I could remember the name of.

It takes place somewhere “out west” on a ranch of some sort. He is renting out his extra cabin, she’s an artist who rents it. He hates Christmas. She LOVES Christmas. She wants to move to this town because her friend already moved there, but her mother will only believe she wants to move there if she fell in love. Her mother (and maybe father? I can’t remember him) comes to visit and she has to stay in his house instead of the guest cabin for the holiday season and she decorates ridiculously. They bake cookies together. They end up falling in love, yadda yadda yadda.

I wish I could remember more, but for the life of me I can’t. Any help you can give would be appreciated. I’ve been doing some searching and I’m fairly certain it isn’t a Carolyn Brown, but I don’t usually read outside the historical romance genre so I’m at a loss as to what other authors it could be.

Sound familiar to anyone?

I think this is The Trouble With Christmas by Amy Andrews

Rancher Joshua Grady does not love Christmas. Or company, or chatty women. Unfortunately for him, the chattiest woman ever has rented the cottage on his ranch, invited her rich, art-scene parents, and now insists he play “fake rancher boyfriend” in a production of the Hokiest Christmas Ever. And somehow…she gets him to agree

Seconding The Trouble with Christmas! It’s definitely twee, but a solid read.

I was so excited to finally be able to answer one of these, I had to post. I remember thinking The Trouble with Christmas by Amy Andrews was pretty adorable. I love me a grumpy hero 🙂

Yep, I was coming here to say it. I was so proud of myself for solving one.

I recently found out that anyone can have a Las Vegas digital library card. I immediately went to my various library accounts on Libby to find this book, and the only one that has this book is Vegas!

    It was meant to be.

  6. spinsterrevival says:

@CB: fyi that Las Vegas card will only last for a year (there’s no fine print about this—it just quits and you have to go to a library), but it’s great while you have it as they have an amazing Overdrive collection.

    loved this book!

  8. Sam says:

Wait, like, anyone anywhere (in the US presumably) can get a Las Vegas library card for a year?

  9. CB says:

@Sam – yes! It’s incredibly easy and they have a great romance section.
