  • Say You’re Sorry

Say You’re Sorry by Karen Rose

RECOMMENDED: Say You’re Sorry by Karen Rose is $1.99! Carrie, who is not normally a romantic suspense reader, was tempted by the setting of Sacramento. She gave it a B+:

In general I don’t think Romantic Suspense will ever be my favorite genre, but I certainly found this example to be emotional and gripping, and it did a good job of including romance without making me feel that the violence was being used as some sort of adrenaline-providing backdrop.

Introducing the first book in the new pulse-pounding Sacramento series from New York Times bestselling author Karen Rose.

FBI Special Agent Gideon Reynolds did not have a conventional upbringing. Raised in a cult in Northern California, his mother smuggled him out when he was thirteen, and he never saw her again. It is not a bit of history he is keen on sharing, but being guarded has not gotten him any closer to what he really wants: a family.

Daisy Dawson lived a sheltered childhood. Her father, a former military man, believed that the woman he loved and her daughter were being hunted, so he took extreme measures to keep his family safe. But despite his best efforts, Daisy is done being scared. New to Sacramento, she is ready to jump headfirst into life–until she is attacked one night.

Gideon is caught unawares by Daisy, who is unlike any victim he has ever met. But the attacker is far from finished, and tracking him will threaten to pull Gideon back to the world he fought so hard to leave…

  • Dream On

    Dream On by Angie Hockman

Dream On by Angie Hockman is $1.99! This is a contemporary romance with amnesia. I’m very curious how that shakes out, but I don’t want to look up any spoilers just in case I ever read this one.

What would you do if your dream man turned out to be real?

When law student Cass Walker wakes up after surviving a car accident, she is flooded with memories of her boyfriend, Devin. The only problem? Devin doesn’t exist. But everything she remembers about him feels so real, like the precise shade of his coffee-brown eyes; the texture of his favorite hand-me-down scarf; even the slightly crooked angle of his pinkie, broken after falling off a trampoline in third grade. She knows he’s a figment of her imagination—friends, family, and doctors confirm it—but she still can’t seem to get him out of her head.

So when she runs into the real Devin a year later in a Cleveland flower shop, she’s completely shocked. Even more surprising is that Devin actually believes her story, and soon they embark on a real-life romance. With her dream man by her side and an upcoming summer job at a prestigious law firm, Cass’s future seems perfect. But fate might have other plans…

  • Unbuttoning the CEO

Unbuttoning the CEO by Mia Sosa

Unbuttoning the CEO by Mia Sosa is $1.99! This contemporary romance has a bit of a taboo relationship element. However, I’m skeptical about the hero and his redemption arc. Reckless driving is no joke. This is also part of the Forever Yours digital imprint, so it’s a little on the shorter side at less than 300 pages.

WHO SAYS YOU CAN’T MIX BUSINESS WITH PLEASURE?

As the CEO of a large tech company and a semi-reformed bad boy, Ethan Hill is used to calling the shots. But when he’s sentenced to work two hundred hours of community service-for reckless driving, of all things-this chief executive needs to keep his real identity under wraps. Which gets increasingly difficult when he can’t stop thinking about his sexy new (temporary) boss.

The moment Graciela Ramirez meets Ethan, she’s tempted to throw all professionalism out the window. She can’t afford to get emotionally involved, but after a steamy session behind office doors, a no-strings-attached fling might be exactly what they need. He’ll protect his secret. She’ll protect her heart. What could possibly go wrong?

  • The Sapphire Affair

The Sapphire Affair by Lauren Blakely

The Sapphire Affair by Lauren Blakely is $1.99! This is a romantic suspense that Elyse mentioned on a previous Hide Your Wallet as the start of a new series she was excited about. Many readers loved the mix of adventure and romance, while others said it takes a bit for the hero and heroine to initially meet

Bounty hunter Jake Harlowe knows how to track a criminal. So when a group of swindled shareholders hires him to trail their former CEO, Jake expects a quick trip to the Cayman Islands to close another case. Until a devastatingly beautiful woman gets in the way.

Steph Anderson is visiting the Caymans for a rock climbing and dive trip—or so she tells Jake. She’s really trying to find out whether or not her stepfather embezzled money from his company. The last thing Steph needs is the distraction of a sexy, charming man whose kisses drive her wild.

Soon, the pair discover they’re after the same target—and millions in jewels. While Jake can’t be certain Steph isn’t working for her stepfather, and Steph can’t be certain Jake isn’t after the diamonds for himself, they can agree the heat between them is intense, and neither can deny the passion for long.

But the morning after, Steph discovers that she just might have slept with the enemy, and now she’ll have to outwit him to get everything she needs…

The Dream On Amazon link connected me to an m/m romantic comedy video series in the UK – free trial available to watch it, btw

  3. Rhiannon Kaye says:

I’m interested to know what others thought of dream on – I’ve read the sample before and liked it, and read her previous/first book, which was a 3.75 for me, so I wondered about reading this one as a library book or on sale. Thanks

  4. Annie says:

It’s the little dismissive “of all things” attached to reckless driving that annoys me especially

  5. Neile says:

DREAM ON was a library book for me. I enjoyed it but I would be unlikely to re-read it, which generally is my purchase line.

  6. flchen1 says:

Melissa Schroeder’s Crazy Love (Juniper Springs 2) is on sale for $.99, as is the boxset of the three Camo & Cupcakes titles! (It’s usually 9.99, I think)

Marie Harte’s PNR To Hunt a Sainte is currently free.

  7. Karen D says:

I absolutely loved Dream On. I don’t want to say too much because it’s not a book you can hear about before reading, but it was everything I wanted it to be:-)
