Sir Patrick Stewart just joined TikTok and he’s reading A Christmas Carol. His voice.
wowow so many! to choose just one, i loved the hbomax show “our flag means death” (warning about a emotional cliffhanger of an ending to s1!) which is a queer pirate comedy!! there is so much lovely rep and a whole scene to fleetwood mac’s “the chain” AGH so so good
The “date” episode of Leverage Redemption made me extremely happy.
The Instagram feeds for otters always bring smiles!
The Portland Zoo Facebook pages always makes me smile!
Such a cliche, but Ted Lasso!
Confess, Fletch is so good.
I finally started watching Golden Girls, and it’s delightful
Trevor Noah’s recent comedy special hit at the right time, making me laugh amid the holiday chaos.
I started listening to the Morbid podcast, which helps me get through my work days. Listening to other people’s ghost encounters and spooky stuff is a great escape from the mundane work day!
Watching Taskmaster on YouTube. Going on a deep dive of all the delightful zaniness.
Vitamin String Quartet!
I got a 3-month free trial of Apple TV when I bought a new computer this summer, and LOVED Schmigadoon!
Heartstopper
What We Do in the Shadows
YouTube Premium. No more ads for grammarly for the rest of my life. HEAVEN.
Right now we are watching the British version of Ghosts on HBO Max- 30 minutes of low-stakes comedy is about all I can commit to these days.
ROKU has two channels devoted to Antiques Roadshow—one for the BBC/British series and one for the PBS/American series. Perfect background right now for when I’m decorating, cooking, wrapping gifts, etc. I tend to gravitate to the BBC version which doesn’t rely so much on the big “you bought this for a dollar at a yard sale, and it’s an original Rembrandt etching worth one meellion dollars” reveal, plus some of the episodes from the early 2000s are hosted by Michael Aspel who I remember as a BBC News reader back my English childhood in the 1960s.
I’ve also been enjoying the She Wore Black podcast, hosted by Agatha Andrews. Her focus is on horror, specifically gothic, but she interviews a wide range of authors and always points out plots and tropes that represent the nexus of horror and romance.
The last episode of Younger, which I finally watched, made me so happy. (Spoiler….)
It wasn’t the *best* thing I watched, but it made me the happiest: I was always on Team Josh, but even more than that I was on Team Liza and I loved how they wrapped things up.
INCRadio on Youtube, but specifically INCRadio New York. Fun crew, interesting weekly topics and I sometimes see people I know in the live chat.
Heartstopper on Netflix! I loved it SO much.
I am addicted to watching tiny house videos on YouTube even though I have zero desire to live in one.

Warner Bro. Studios sells official Ted Lasso biscuits with the boss https://store.wbstudiotour.com/products/ted-lasso-biscuits
They are currently out of stock but there are other Ted Lasso products still available. A local Renaissance Faire vendor was contracted to make these and his Welsh cakes are delicious, so I imagine the biscuits are also good.
The K drama Business Proposal.
I discovered GHOSTS on CBS this year. Such a warm, funny show.
The podcast, “Not Just the Tutors,” by Suzannah Lipscomb! So enjoyable and informative.
I discovered Zeftank’s “True Facts” on YouTube. Nature documentaries, excellent footage… and twisted narration which, as he puts it, is “not for children, not for adults who don’t think like children”
This year I finally started listening to the Maintenance Phase podcast, and it has been so incredible in helping me sort through some wellness and weight stuff. It’s also super funny, and I love the hosts.
National Public Radio gets me through my days; the BBC gets me through my nights!
The Ten Percent Happier podcast has been so awesome this year. Learning more about meditation and about Buddhism has been so good for my mental health!
Our Flag Means Death — so delightful and well done!
seconding Taskmaster on YouTube, season 12 just got uploaded to their official channel and it’s one of the best most wholesome groups of funny people doing silly tasks since Taskmaster season 4
Matt Lucas leaving Bake Off made me so happy!
More than one piece, but I’ve gotta go with an account. Bunsen and Beaker a bernese mountain dog and his excitable golden retriever sister are big into science. Their feline sister Ginger helps out too.
I really enjoyed Magpie Murders. Great mystery, and awesome to see an older woman protagonist who was fashionable, smart, and desirable.
I started watching the Great British British Baking Show while knitting–I know I am late to the party but am totally hooked (except for Mexican Week).
The fact that “Rings of Power” was actually good made me so incredibly happy. 🙂
I think it has to be Mythic Quest on Apple+. It’s just so funny and I feel better after watching it, because it has made me laugh and laughing is good for the brain.
Ghosts (CBS). It’s been so kind-hearted and funny and loving.
The last season of Derry Girls was amazing the whole series is great by the way full of heart and laughs
