  • The Art of Theft

The Art of Theft by Sherry Thomas

The Art of Theft by Sherry Thomas is $1.99! This is book four in the Lady Sherlock series, which the Bitchery and Sarah highly recommend. I do believe these books should be read in order, but if you’re looking to collect all the books on your Kindle, this is a great deal.

Charlotte Holmes, Lady Sherlock, is back solving new cases in the Victorian-set mystery series from the USA Today bestselling author of The Hollow of Fear.

As “Sherlock Holmes, consulting detective,” Charlotte Holmes has solved murders and found missing individuals. But she has never stolen a priceless artwork—or rather, made away with the secrets hidden behind a much-coveted canvas.

But Mrs. Watson is desperate to help her old friend recover those secrets and Charlotte finds herself involved in a fever-paced scheme to infiltrate a glamorous Yuletide ball where the painting is one handshake away from being sold and the secrets a bare breath from exposure.

Her dear friend Lord Ingram, her sister Livia, Livia’s admirer Stephen Marbleton—everyone pitches in to help and everyone has a grand time. But nothing about this adventure is what it seems and disaster is biding time on the grounds of a glittering French chateau, waiting only for Charlotte to make a single mistake…

  • The Secret Ingredient

The Secret Ingredient by KD Fisher

RECOMMENDED: The Secret Ingredient by KD Fisher is $1.99! This is part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals and F/F romances never go on sale. Tara reviewed this one and gave it a B:

The Secret Ingredient’s premise appealed to me because it has two chefs falling in love in a small town. I expected a fun comfort read and was pleasantly surprised when it delivered more than that, especially through one of the leads, Adah.

Two amazing chefs. Two very different restaurants. One recipe for love.

For single mom Adah Campbell, the executive chef job at a posh restaurant in quaint South Bay, Maine is a dream come true—and the perfect opportunity to start over, far away from a home that’s never felt entirely hers. But fitting in has never been easy, and between a new town, a new boss, and the unexpectedly attractive owner of a rival café, things get off to a rocky start.

Never did free-spirited Beth Summers think she’d still be in Maine. Travel the world gathering delicious recipes and finding friends and lovers? Absolutely. Step in to run her family’s small-town café? Not so much. However, once Beth commits to something, that’s it. Soon, The Yellow House is the hottest spot in town, but Beth’s out of energy—and out of ideas for moving forward.

Until Adah Campbell walks into her life. As sparks fly, both chefs have to decide if they are willing to make sacrifices…or if it’s really too many cooks in the kitchen.

  • Let’s Talk About Love

Let’s Talk About Love by Claire Kann

RECOMMENDEDLet’s Talk About Love by Claire Kann is $2.99! It has an asexual heroine and Carrie gave the book a B+:

This book does a great job of discussing asexuality and different forms it can take, as well as other common problems that students have. There is an appropriate amount of ramen. The romance is very sweet.

Striking a perfect balance between heartfelt emotions and spot-on humor, this debut features a pop-culture enthusiast protagonist with an unforgettable voice sure to resonate with readers.

Alice had her whole summer planned. Nonstop all-you-can-eat buffets while marathoning her favorite TV shows (best friends totally included) with the smallest dash of adulting—working at the library to pay her share of the rent. The only thing missing from her perfect plan? Her girlfriend (who ended things when Alice confessed she’s asexual). Alice is done with dating—no thank you, do not pass go, stick a fork in her, done.

But then Alice meets Takumi and she can’t stop thinking about him or the rom com-grade romance feels she did not ask for (uncertainty, butterflies, and swoons, oh my!).

When her blissful summer takes an unexpected turn and Takumi becomes her knight with a shiny library-employee badge (close enough), Alice has to decide if she’s willing to risk their friendship for a love that might not be reciprocated—or understood.

Claire Kann’s debut novel Let’s Talk About Love, chosen by readers like you for Macmillan’s young adult imprint Swoon Reads, gracefully explores the struggle with emerging adulthood and the complicated line between friendship and what it might mean to be something more.

  • A Hundred Summers

A Hundred Summers by Beatriz Williams

A Hundred Summers by Beatriz Williams is $1.99! Williams often writes historical fiction with romantic elements and this one is set in Rhode Island. There was a review I read that described Williams’ books as “schmaltzy” and that you really have to lean into it. I completely agree and sometimes, we need some schmaltz.

As the 1938 hurricane approaches Rhode Island, another storm brews in this New York Times bestselling beach read from the author of The Summer Wives and The Golden Hour.

Lily Dane has returned to Seaview, Rhode Island, where her family has summered for generations. It’s an escape not only from New York’s social scene but from a heartbreak that still haunts her. Here, among the seaside community that has embraced her since childhood, she finds comfort in the familiar rituals of summer.

But this summer is different. Budgie and Nick Greenwald—Lily’s former best friend and former fiancé—have arrived, too, and Seaview’s elite are abuzz. Under Budgie’s glamorous influence, Lily is seduced into a complicated web of renewed friendship and dangerous longing.

As a cataclysmic hurricane churns north through the Atlantic, and uneasy secrets slowly reveal themselves, Lily and Nick must confront an emotional storm that will change their worlds forever…

  1. Lisa F says:

All of these are great picks; this isn’t my favorite Williams, so I’d prioritize the other three above it.

  2. Sarah Peach says:

Let’s Talk About Love was AMAZING!!! I had never read a book with an ace heroine and I was so invested in the characters that I cried multiple times. One of the sweetest books I read last year.

  3. DiscoDollyDeb says:

Free right now in the Kindle Store: Sierra Simone’s ONCE UPON A DREAM, a collection of three erotic novellas inspired by fairy tales. Two of the stories—AMERICAN WITCH (inspired by The Princess & the Pea) and RED AND WHITE (inspired by Snow White, with elements of Little Red Riding Hood) have been published elsewhere, but I was not familiar with the third story, MUSIC BOX GIRL. Simone writes in a lush and vivid style—and, if you’re unfamiliar with Simone, these novellas might be a good introduction and certainly the price is right.

  4. LAURA says:

I would have been spared such heartache–if even ten years ago–women had been “allowed” to be bisexual without being shamed by most lesbians or fetishized by most straight people. I’m just relieved there are voices like Kann’s who dare people to consider lesbians can even fall in love with a human who has a penis.

!00 Summers started out fantastic but it ended like an over-wrought thirteen year old strung out on sleep deprivation and Mountain Dew.

  5. marjorie says:

I purchased the novel by the overwrought 13-year-old strung out on sleep deprivation and Mountain Dew (!!! LAURA !!!!) because I’m from RI and miss my state and hope the book will offer a sense of place. I recently saw a huge batch of photos of the aftermath of the hurricane of 1938. Awful. Even as a child I’d heard of it; it was a huge traumatic event in the life of the state.

Not sure how I’ll feel about a romance set against that backdrop but hey, for two bucks I’ll give it a shot.

  6. LAURA says:

@marjorie I loved the setting and everything else about this novel except the overly dramatic ending. If you are homesick you will love it.
