LOVE McSweeney’s! Their Quarterly (along with The Believer magazine and Popshot) are pretty much the only things I subscribe to.
I was so happy that the pierced and perfumed concubine was a dude for a change, but a closer look indicates the Dark Scions is not m/m
@kkw – No, but, per Goodreads reviews, she kills the “man who has terrorized and subjugated my people” which is a change.
