  • Take a Hint, Dani Brown

Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

RECOMMENDED: Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert is $2.99! Maya squeed about this one and I agree with her assessment:

So I loved Take a Hint, Dani Brown. How much? I joined the Bad Decisions Book Club on the reread. Which started right after I had finished it the first time. Yes. I knew exactly where the book was going to go and I could not put it down. Honestly, I’m reading it a third time.

Talia Hibbert returns with another charming romantic comedy about a young woman who agrees to fake date her friend after a video of him “rescuing” her from their office building goes viral…

Danika Brown knows what she wants: professional success, academic renown, and an occasional roll in the hay to relieve all that career-driven tension. But romance? Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt. Romantic partners, whatever their gender, are a distraction at best and a drain at worst. So Dani asks the universe for the perfect friend-with-benefits—someone who knows the score and knows their way around the bedroom.

When brooding security guard Zafir Ansari rescues Dani from a workplace fire drill gone wrong, it’s an obvious sign: PhD student Dani and ex-rugby player Zaf are destined to sleep together. But before she can explain that fact, a video of the heroic rescue goes viral. Now half the internet is shipping #DrRugbae—and Zaf is begging Dani to play along. Turns out, his sports charity for kids could really use the publicity. Lying to help children? Who on earth would refuse?

Dani’s plan is simple: fake a relationship in public, seduce Zaf behind the scenes. The trouble is, grumpy Zaf’s secretly a hopeless romantic—and he’s determined to corrupt Dani’s stone-cold realism. Before long, he’s tackling her fears into the dirt. But the former sports star has issues of his own, and the walls around his heart are as thick as his… um, thighs.

Suddenly, the easy lay Dani dreamed of is more complex than her thesis. Has her wish backfired? Is her focus being tested? Or is the universe just waiting for her to take a hint?

  • The Time of His Life

The Time of His Life by Jamie Wesley

The Time of His Life by Jamie Wesley is $2.99! This is book five in the Camp Firefly Falls series. The series is a contemporary romance series, but all the books seem to be written by different authors. If this one doesn’t appeal to you, feel free to look at the rest of the books for some great reader catnip!

Malcolm Turner can’t believe his sisters have tricked him into attending Get Your Groove Back Week at Camp Firefly Falls. Yes, he’s been busy trying to get his family’s lingerie business off the ground, but no woman has ever complained about his groove, thank you very much. He’ll just stay in his cabin and work on his marketing campaign. Well, until he sees her.

Dancer Valerie Shaw is working at the camp to save money for her new business venture. She is not there to meet men. Not even the preppy, yet hot (sooo hot) guy staring at her as she performs. Except she can’t stop thinking about him. Or pushing his buttons. Or hoping he puts his hands (and lips) all over her.

Maybe a fling is in order. A temporary distraction. But that’s as far as it goes–if they can let each other go at the end of the week.

  • The Demigod Complex

The Demigod Complex by Abigail Owen

The Demigod Complex by Abigail Owen is 99c! This paranormal romance came out last month and I’m so curious about it. It’s the first in a series that blends mythology with a workplace romance. It is on the shorter side, but I’ll probably buy it anyway for the catnippy setup.

When Lyleia Naiad was head-hunted by Brimstone, Inc., for her job as Executive Assistant to a high-powered billionaire demigod, she was given one directive—do NOT fall in love with Castor Dioskouri. Doesn’t matter if he’s the son of Zeus and can electrify a room with a single glance. As an ex-nymph, she possesses a unique ability—a gift from the goddesses to protect nymphs from the randy gods—to resist her boss’s charms.

    Or so she thought.

He insists she accompany him to an alpha wolf shifter mating ceremony, an event where the pheromones fly, and so do clothes…and inhibitions.

Goddesses save her, because Castor has stolen into Lyleia’s heart, and she’s not so sure she can hold out much longer…

This novella was previously self published but has undergone a complete re-edit. Scenes were added, things were changed, but the kissing still remains!

  • Delicious

    Delicious by Shayla Black

Delicious by Shayla Black is $1.99! This is a BDSM erotic romance and is all sorts of bonkers. Black writes Alpha heroes like whoa and is definitely an acquired taste. And it could be rather dated at this point. Are you a fan of Black’s books?

    He can’t control his desire.

Luc Traverson’s entire future is planned out—but there is one very sexy obstacle in his path: Alyssa Devereaux. She’s a former exotic dancer turned strip club owner and restaurateur. Recently, Alyssa and Luc shared one night of wild abandon that left Luc terrified by his loss of self-control—and Alyssa desperate for more.

And that’s just the way she wants it.

Fulfilling a promise, Luc is the guest chef for Alyssa’s restaurant debut. The sight of her makes Luc wild, so how can he survive a week without letting loose and ravaging her—especially when she’s begging for it? Luc’s desire for her explodes when he realizes he isn’t the only man desperate to have her. But one of the others is deadly. And that’s not the end of Alyssa’s secrets…which are as dark and mysterious and enticing as her fantasies.

  6. DonnaMarie says:

Maybe because it’s been a while am I the only one who remembers that Shayla Black is the author of the infamous: “FUCKING HER ASS, SAVING HER LIFE.”?

It was in the book previous to this one, and Luc is the person who asks the question that ellicits the above.
Buyer beware. Black can be fun, but there’s also some batshit crazysauce dysfunctionality in her books.

  7. Debbie says:

Ooooh, loved Chloe’s book, I’ll have to try Dani’s now. And I should just be on auto-buy for Abigail Owen – all of hers are fabulous, deliciously fast with just the right amount of heat, and of course gods, dragons, and shifters.

  8. FashionablyEvil says:

For anyone who has not had the pleasure of reading the “fucking her ass saving her life” review, I commend it to you. It’s great.

  9. Maureen says:

I totally agree with @FashionablyEvil-I went and searched on the book review by Candy-and laughed till I cried, not only at the review, but the comments!! Absolutely hilarious! I also loved the fact that Victoria Dahl was a commenter. I LOVED Jane Doe-her writing under the name Victoria Helen Stone. I’m concentrating on her earlier books now, and they are so good. Her comments are super funny, and give me a bit of a glow because I will admit, I love when an author I enjoy seems awesome.

  10. Lisa F says:

Take a Hint, Dani Brown is still my favorite book of the year! Marvelous

@DonnaMarie – I HAD COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN ABOUT THAT INCIDENT! A legendary SBTB review.
