Speeches, Laughing Until I Cried, & More

Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses. It’s Wednesday! It’s happening again!

Weird, right?

In Amanda-town, it’s a cranky week where I frequently make bad sleeping decisions, like staying up past 2am to play video games. It’s like I’m in high school all over again!

In more relevant news, I’m planning some awesome virtual romance events that you’ll find out about shortly.

Alisha Rai and her mom watched Indian Matchmaking on Netflix and then wrote about it for O, The Oprah Magazine.

Most events have transitioned to virtual setups, including the Chicago-North RWA Spring Fling. If you missed it, you can read Alyssa Cole’s keynote speech here.

Big thanks to Leah for sending this my way! Window Swap is a website where you can “swap windows” with someone around the world, and take a look outside their window. It’s kind of addicting. You can also submit your own window!

Discovering one’s sexuality is such a journey. I came to terms with my bisexuality as a late teen. I so loved this Vice piece on a woman exploring her queerness after a divorce at age 33.

If you want to laugh until you cry (like I did), watch this made-up game show. Yes, it’s almost a half hour, but so worth it.

Don’t forget to share what super cool things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

I opened Kristen’s window in Kansas USA and found an absolutely beautiful black kitty sitting on a desk in front of a window. Love this, thanks for the link! It is definitely addicting.

  2. Cyndy says:

That Game Changer along with its sequel are maybe the funniest things ever put to screen.

  3. Maite says:

The teddy bear has been found!

For the full story, go check out drawmaradraw twitter account, but the short version version is:

Woman has backpack stolen. Among items stolen is a teddy bear, with a voice recording from her mom. Who died from cancer and recorded that message so her daughter would always have it. Woman reaches out to twitter to get bear back. Woman gets bear back, posts video of herself with bear.

I just find it beautiful how so many people cared and organized to get a bear back.

  4. HeatherT says:

OMG — Game Changer started off a bit slow but then went into the batshit nonsense of insanity. Thank you for making me laugh until I maybe wet myself a little.

  5. EC Spurlock says:

I want to marry Arnulf in Bavaria just so I can look at the view out that window every day. Failing that I will take Andreas in Lucerne. That really is an addictive website!

  6. Nicolette says:

I found a Columbian window after some clicking. It’s so nice to see this view of a small apartment. It’s oddly soothing. Shout out to this Envicado location.

I posted this elsewhere on the site today, but I wanted to post it here too—a very interesting article from Joey W. Hill about Doms versus Dommes in bdsm romance. A lot of interesting ideas about why readers like one but not the other:
