  • Fury Rising

    Fury Rising by Yasmine Galenorn

Fury Rising by Yasmine Galenorn is 99c! This urban fantasy is the first book in Fury Unbound series and has some obvious Greek mythology elements. Readers really loved the premise for those one, but felt it faltered. Have you read this one?

“My name is Kaeleen Donovan. I’m a Theosian-a minor goddess. They call me Fury.”

By day, I run the Crossroads Cleaning Company, and I also read fortunes and cast hexes at Dream Wardens, a magical consulting shop. But by night, I’m oath-bound to Hecate, goddess of the Crossroads. Hecate charged me from birth with the task of hunting down Abominations who come in off the World Tree and sending them back to Pandoriam.

When the Thunderstrike-an ancient artifact from the time of the Weather Wars-is stolen by the Order of the Black Mist, Hecate orders me to find the magical device. The chaos magicians are out to upset the balance that Gaia instilled during the World Shift. But I soon discover that the leader of the Black Mist is out to do more than stir up trouble-he’s looking to set up a new world order with himself on the throne. Caught between two rival forces, will my friends and I be able to survive as we search for the Thunderstrike and attempt to stop a war that could bring about the end of the civilization?

  • Chef Sugarlips

    Chef Sugarlips by Tawna Fenske

Chef Sugarlips by Tawna Fenske is 99c! I’ve read other books in this series and they’re fun, quick reads. This one in particular was recommended in my romance book club and I’m always a sucker for foodie elements in my romance.

Sean Bracelyn can whip up a saffron-laced lobster risotto in his sleep, but relationships? That’s one recipe he hasn’t nailed. Not that he has time, between launching a new restaurant and building a luxury resort with his awkwardly-blended family. But when his dream girl nearly knocks him unconscious with a dead turkey, it’s all Sean can do to keep his eyes on the gazpacho and off Amber King’s perfect curves.

Amber’s done with guys propping her on a pedestal. Transforming her family’s reindeer ranch into a country chic wedding venue is consuming enough, and the last thing she needs is an extra serving of love drama. So what is it about the stupid-sexy chef that gets her desires bubbling like a pot of hot spaghetti?

Keeping their distance is tough enough before Sean and Amber get tossed together by wacky weddings, lingerie mishaps, and a surly three-legged cat. When Sean’s mom shows up to dish out huge helpings of family drama, a big secret threatens to spread faster than a kitchen fire.

Can Sean and Amber find the right blend of sugar and spice, or will love fall flat as a burnt soufflé?

  • Hometown Love

    Hometown Love by Christina Tetreault

Hometown Love by Christina Tetreault is 99c at Amazon and $2.99 elsewhere! Judging from the description, it seems like the heroine may have a traumatic backstory; do some extra research if you need it.

Everyone in North Salem thinks they know Jessie Quinn. She is the town’s quintessential girl next door. The woman you can always turn to when you need a helping hand. Nobody knows that she’s spent years overcoming the emotional scars left by her last boyfriend.

As a single dad and task force officer with the FBI, Mack Ellsbury moves back to North Salem to be closer to his family, not to find love. Then Jessie Quinn returns to his life. Soon Mack no longer sees Jessie as the quiet girl he once tutored in high school but rather the woman he is falling in love with.

Mack’s love helps Jessie erase the scars she’s carried around for so long, but when his ex-wife decides she wants reconciliation, their relationship is put in jeopardy.

  • Pucked

    Pucked by Helena Hunting

Pucked by Helena Hunting is 99c at Amazon! This is the first book in Hunting’s Pucked new adult contemporary romance series. I haven’t read this one, though it’s on my kindle. A friend, who I made into a romance convert, says this series is highly marathonable and compares them to literary potato chips.

With a famous NHL player for a stepbrother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation of many a hockey star. So of course she isn’t interested in legendary team captain Alex Waters or his pretty, beat-up face and rock-hard six-pack abs. But when Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet’s misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes much more than just a hot body with the face to match. Suffering from a complete lapse in judgment, Violet discovers just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants.

Violet believes her night of orgasmic magic with Alex is just that: one night. But Alex starts to call. And text. And email and send extravagant – and quirky – gifts. Suddenly he’s too difficult to ignore and nearly impossible not to like. The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn’t want to be part of the game.

  1. Ren Benton says:

THE GOOD LUCK GIRLS by Charlotte Nicole Davis is currently $2.99. Prominent comparisons to Westworld, Six of Crows, and The Handmaid’s Tale, if that does or does not sound like your jam.

  2. Kris Bock says:

The titles in this BOOKS ON SALE are pretty ridiculous! Not buying today, but appreciate the laugh!

  4. Ms. M says:

Chef Sugarlips is a sweet book with very little real conflict. It was fun while I was reading it, but it didn’t stay with me. It does go down smooth and comforting, though 🙂

  5. Irene Headley says:

I started Pucked, but could get no further than Chapter One because the heroine kept referring to her ‘beav’.

  6. DonnaMarie says:

    @Irene Headley, totally justified DNF.

  7. Antipodean Shenanigans says:

I too DNFed Pucked. Sent it to the penalty box around 70%. The heroine is so immature and slut shames anyone who has more sex than her. The hero is almost a decent guy, except for they both are pucking terrible with boundaries.
The only thing that pleasantly surprised me was the enthusiasm shown to the hero’s (much objectified) uncircumcised penis.

  8. Lisa F says:

The Fenske is a lot of fun tBH.
