Among my favorite things about Laurenston’s writing is how very affirming and inspiring and a whole lot of fun it is, because angry, fearless women make room for themselves, they get shit done, and they’re the heroines. More honey badgers, please.

RECOMMENDED: Scandal Never Sleeps by Shayla Black and Lexi Blake is 99c! Elyse read this one and really enjoyed it, though she did find it hard to classify in terms of genre:

The rescue me series is pretty cute.
I just can’t get into Samantha Chase no matter what I do. I don’t know what it is about her prose but I just don’t feel her prose.
Tessa Dare’s “Do You Want to Start a Scandal?” (Spindle Cover #5) is on sale for $1.99 (Amazon Kindle, B&N Nook, possibly others).
Scandal Never Sleeps/the Perfect Gentlemen series was unexpected crack for me. I TORE through those books and really enjoyed the mystery/suspense aspects.
That said, I was able to ignore the elite boarding school meets politics aspect, but it could be icky to some people on the current climate. Also, I could never quite figure out how old they were, based on the positions they held, especially compared to the heroines.
But, I totally glommed these and got a friend hooked too, so for me they were a success.
Are there any stories where it’s the sister of a FEMALE best friend that’s ‘off-limits’ for the hero?
Not because it’s a will-they-or-won’t-they thing … but because they’re really friends, and dating her sister might not be cool.
The new bookfinder tool gave me approx. 140 results for ‘Off Limits Sibling or Friend’ … I’m working my way through, but so far haven’t found any that fit.
Yet again, idle curiosity turns into a burning need to track down something super specific!
Bu, I’m working on that book right now. It will be called Kittens and Kisses at the Cat Cafe, book 2 in my sweet romance series set around a cat cafe. The hero is in love with his female best friend’s older sister, and has been since they were all teens and the age difference was much more significant. I hope to have it out by the end of the month. You can also meet those characters in the first book, Coffee and Crushes at the Cat Cafe.

@Blu I feel like usually when you see a man and woman as friends in romance, then the trope is friends to lovers. I can recall very few novels with an opposite sex best friend duo where the love interest ends up being someone outside the friend duo. I do appreciate when I see the best friend’s sister trope but it’s an older sister.
