Smart Podcast Book Club Pick: Rebel Hard by Nalini Singh

It’s time to announce our pick for the second quarter Smart Podcast Book Club!

As I said back in January, I asked the Patreon community to suggest titles, and wow, did they come through with great ideas. The suggestion for this book came with the following comments that it’s a:

Fun story that would lend itself for great discussions about autonomy and family love vs obligations and culture.

I am so excited to read this book.

So, let’s get to it!

This month we’ll be reading Rebel Hard by Nalini Singh!

Rebel Hard
A | BN | K | AB
Here’s the back cover copy:

New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh continues her Hard Play series with a sweet, sexy romance featuring big, fat, OTT weddings, a meddling grandma, and a too-serious hero who needs to be unbuttoned…

Nayna Sharma agreed to an arranged marriage in the hope it would heal the fractures in her beloved family… only to realize too late that a traditional marriage is her personal nightmare. Panicked, she throws caution to the winds, puts on the tiniest dress she can find, and ends up in the arms of a tall, rough-edged hunk of a man who has abs of steel—and who she manages to mortally insult between one kiss and the next.

Abandoned as a child, then adopted into a loving family, Raj Sen believes in tradition, in continuity. Some might call him stiff and old-fashioned, but he knows what he wants—and it’s a life defined by rules… yet he can’t stop thinking about the infuriating and sexy woman who kissed him in the moonlight then disappeared. When his parents spring an introduction on him, the last woman he expects is her. Beautiful. Maddening. A rule breaker in the making.

He’s all wrong for her. She’s all wrong for him. And love is about to make rebels of them both.

A hero who is too serious and needs UNBUTTONING? I can think of at least six people who are totally here for this book.

“Oh, this sounds so cool. How do I participate?”

Easy! Find yourself a copy of the book and read it. You can find a copy of Rebel Hard ( A | BN | K | AB ) through our links, which helps support the site (thank you!) and you may be able to find this book in your local library, too.

We here at Bitchery HQ are going to read the book, and record an episode talking about it. That episode will air on June 21, 2019. If you’d like to read along with us on that schedule, you’ll be able to listen in on our discussion. And if you prefer to read, there will absolutely be a transcript of the episode, as there is for each podcast episode!

AND, if you want to share your response, you can email SBJPodcast@gmail.com or leave us a voicemail at +1 201 371 3272. Please do so prior to June 12! I can’t guarantee that every message or email will be included, but we want to hear from you if you’ve got opinions – and I’m sure that you do!

“How do I help select next quarter’s book?”

Easy, part deux! If you’d like to join the Patreon and suggest what we should read for the book club each quarter, have a look at our tiers and join the community. The form is open to all tiers of the Patreon community, and I’ll post a new submission form each quarter.

“I have questions! Many questions!”

The answer is: green! Kidding. Email me or leave a comment below!

I hope you enjoy this book, and our multimedia book club. Talk, listen, and read (and rebel) soon!

    I loved this book!

  2. Escapeologist says:

This sounds fun. I’m 100% here for the meddling grandma.

My library has this available on hoopla, downloading now.

  3. Taylor says:

I liked this one, but the next one on the series (Rock Hard) enraged me (consent and entitlement issues).

  4. PamG says:

I thought Rock Hard was part of the Rock Kiss series. Also, is there a reason that the link which I thought was for Amazon brings me to what appears to be an ad on this site? Am I missing something?

  5. SB Sarah says:

    Hey Pam!

I’m sorry for the confusion. The (A) link goes to our BookInfo page for this book, from which you can access the Amazon order link.
