Coast to Coast
Author: Melanie Ting
Released: October 19, 2018
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Romance
Series: Vancouver Vice Hockey #5Gabriel Olsson is falling in love.
From the moment I saw Lily Larson—lost in the middle of campus—I knew she was a golden girl. She’s blessed with charm, beauty, and confidence. Yet out of all the guys in my Swedish hometown, she chose me. I’m not questioning why because Lily is my sunshine in the dark Nordic night. She awakens a romantic side I didn’t know I possessed.
Everything was perfect until the day she left, when my awkwardness made our break-up especially painful. Now Lily won’t even talk to me. My one slim chance to win her back is a hockey try-out in her hometown in Canada. But to get there, I’ll have to polish my rusty goaltending skills and—hardest of all—leave the family that I’ve been holding together for five years.
Even then, there’s a chance that all my sacrifices will come to nothing. But I must try because Lily means that much to me.
This global hockey romance is the fifth book in the Vancouver Vice series, but can be enjoyed as a freestanding book.

Make Me Fall
Author: Sara Rider
Released: September 24, 2018
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Romance
Series: Books & Brews #2Enemies make the worst neighbors, but the best lovers
After losing her job, her home, and her friends in her divorce, Nora Pitts is determined not to make the same mistakes when she starts over in the small town of Shadow Creek, Washington. No more slaving away in the lab at the expense of her social life, and definitely no more men. Ever. But making friends in her thirties is so much harder than she anticipated. And when it comes to her gorgeous yet obnoxious neighbor, it’s a whole lot easier to make enemies.
Eli Hardin doesn’t have a lot of sympathy for his uptight neighbor, until he overhears her so-called new friends making fun of her un-datable status. Suddenly he finds himself volunteering for a date with a woman who’s been leaving angry hate-notes in his mailbox, and in way over his head. Because all it takes is one disastrous date with Nora for Eli to fall hard.
But falling for Eli isn’t something Nora’s ready for—not when he’s her complete opposite, and especially not when he turns out to be the best friend she’s made in Shadow Creek. But as her attraction and her feelings for Eli grow hotter, resisting him might just lead to heartbreak anyway.

Sawkill Girls
Author: Claire Legrand
Released: October 2, 2018 by Katherine Tegen Books
Genre: Horror, LGBTQIA, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Young AdultBeware of the woods and the dark, dank deep.
He’ll follow you home, and he won’t let you sleep.
Who are the Sawkill Girls?
Marion: the new girl. Awkward and plain, steady and dependable. Weighed down by tragedy and hungry for love she’s sure she’ll never find.
Zoey: the pariah. Luckless and lonely, hurting but hiding it. Aching with grief and dreaming of vanished girls. Maybe she’s broken—or maybe everyone else is.
Val: the queen bee. Gorgeous and privileged, ruthless and regal. Words like silk and eyes like knives, a heart made of secrets and a mouth full of lies.
Their stories come together on the island of Sawkill Rock, where gleaming horses graze in rolling pastures and cold waves crash against black cliffs. Where kids whisper the legend of an insidious monster at parties and around campfires.
Where girls have been disappearing for decades, stolen away by a ravenous evil no one has dared to fight… until now.

Jackie Ashenden is one of my favorites, but I haven’t been very impressed with the books she’s published through the Dare line (I haven’t been very impressed with the Dare line overall…and I’m sorry Harlequin discontinued the Blaze line to, apparently, focus on Dare); however, I thought KING’S PRICE was very good. Both main characters have significant issues in their pasts that must be overcome in order for them to achieve their HEA. One interesting thing: the hero is the “pretty” one, while the heroine sees herself as skinny and plain. They both have self-perception issues.
Yes, “grouchy Swedish goalie” works for me, too.
My Fraser’s Ridge group on Facebook has been touting Kerry Lynne’s The Pirate Captain, Chronicles of a Legend, which sounds amazing. The series has been around a few years, but somehow never made my radar before now.
…a historical action/adventure saga with a twisted love story and answers the question of what would one man do to “Keep his Treasure”!
Having lost hearth and heart to the Stuart Uprising, CATE MACKENZIE, a fugitive war criminal, purchases passage on a ship bound for the West Indies. En route she is kidnapped-a case of mistaken identity-by CAPTAIN NATHANAEL BLACKTHORNE, the pirate captain. Accustomed to blood, musket and cannon, life aboard the pirate ship isn’t the hell Cate expects.

Which reminds me, would it be feasible to add affiliate links for any non USA sites? I often find Amazon in particular doesn’t want me to use the American site and as I therefore don’t end up buying from it you guys don’t get the affiliate pennies.
@Jazzlet: first, thank you so much for asking. Affiliate revenue is a hefty portion of what keeps us in business, and I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.
I am cross enrolled in Amazon global, so when you are redirected, I should receive co.uk affiliate commission. Thank you so very much for asking!
@Sarah, I find the site does not re-direct to the correct version (Canada .ca for me), making it difficult to purchase. Not sure if others experience this – but perhaps this is what @Jazzlet is alluding to?
Oh, dear! I will look into that. Thank you!
Indeed as Judit says Amazon either re-directs incorrectly, or more frequently it doesn’t re-direct at all, but won’t sell me the book either.
Hello,
I try to do the same via Kobo on your website. While redirected to the Australian Kobo, I am not redirected to the book I’d clicked on. I assume as a result you don’t benefit when I eventually buy any recommended books.
