Blame It on the Billionaire by Naima Simone is $1.99! I believe this was a previous Hide Your Wallet selection and is the third book in the Blackout Billionaires series. This one has a plus-size heroine and a fake engagement!
Gather round for some Cover Snark! Elyse: Jason. Buddy. You gotta put your arm through the other side now. C’mon man Amanda: I wonder if he’s like a toddler and whenever his valet comes into dress him, he goes all boneless and throws a tantrum. Sarah: Wouldn’t it be uncomfortable if you put on one shirt sleeve and then one sleeve of the jacket? Like, I confess to having a bit of a Thing about … Continue reading Cover Snark: Smarties in Her Candy Bag
Welcome to Book Beat! Think of Book Beat as Hide Your Wallet, Part Two! In Hide Your Wallet, we talk about books coming out in a particular month that we really want to read. But there’s more to good books than just new releases! Book Beat aims to highlight other books that we may hear about through friends, social media, or other sources. We could see a gorgeous ad! Or find a new-to-us author on a list … Continue reading Book Beat: Queer Horror, Feuding Neighbors, & More
A Summer for Scandal by Lydia San Andres is $1.99! This is a historical romance set in the Caribbean with a heroine hiding her writing identity. One promising review said the feeling between the hero and heroine is very much like Mr. Darcy and Lizzie, but some said the plot execution could have used some work. It has a 3.8-star rating on Goodreads.
Hamilton’s Battalion is available for preorder at Amazon for $4.99! This is a historical romance anthology from Courtney Milan, Rose Lerner, and Alyssa Cole and many of you were super interested in it after it was mentioned on the most recent podcast episode with Cole. I’m excited to see the cover once it’s been finalized.
March is here and our TBR piles are feeling the weight of all these new and awesome book releases. Sarah, Elyse, and I have books that we’re excited about, like new fantasy YA, historical romances, and erotica, but there are a few titles that we didn’t list, but you may be excited about: The Bloggess’ Jenny Lawson has a coloring book coming out called You Are Here . Etched in Bone by Anne Bishop is the fifth … Continue reading March’s New Releases
RECOMMENDED: Too Hot to Handle by Tessa Bailey is $1.99 at most vendors! It’s also $2.99 at Barnes & Noble. I love Bailey’s writing so much. Her dialogue is realistic and fun, and her dirty talk between characters is top notch. I loved the setup of an estranged family’s cross-country road trip. But I will admit the chemistry between the hero and heroine wavered at times.
Happy October! The scourge of the pumpkin spice is now upon us. I do not have many personal traditions, but one of the few I do have consists of the annual reading of “It’s Decorative Gourd Season, Motherfuckers.” I’m sorry to disappoint the masses, though, in saying that I will not be flavoring any drinks with pumpkin on Covers & Cocktails. Personally, I’m more of an apple pie girl. But I promise something warm and … Continue reading Covers & Cocktails: Spicy Lime Margarita
RECOMMENDED: Mine to Take by Jackie Ashenden is $2.99! Elyse read this contemporary erotic romance and really enjoyed it. She gave the book an A-:
I immensely enjoyed the start of this series and am looking forward to the rest of the books. If you like sexy biker gang president CEO heroes who are bossy in the bedroom–and let’s be honest, who doesn’t?–then consider picking up Mine to Take.
