Links: So Much Romance News, Fashion, & Mr. Pirate

Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses.Hi there! It’s Wednesday Links time! Many of today’s links of something to do with romance news (how fitting), but I’ve thrown in some cute animals and pretty clothing for good measure. I’m in the midst of allergy season, so it’s hard for my brain to focus on anything else.

RT Reno kicks off next week! SBTB will be doing a live taping of the podcast on Thursday, 5/17 at 5:30pm local time. This time, Sarah will be pitting Elyse and I against one another in a Romance Family Feud. In the meantime, we need your help in building the Feud’s survey answers! And if you’re going to RT this year, we hope you’re able to say hi!

Julie James fans! She announced on her Instagram that The Thing About Love has been optioned for a TV show on CBS!

The MetGala was this week (yesterday I think? the day before?) and if you want a great thread of some of the standout attire, feast your eyes!

Click through on the tweet to see more! Which was your favorite? I’m in love with Zendaya’s Joan of Arc-inspired look. She needs to be in a movie with as a badass medieval heroine.

More adaptation news! Roomies by Christina Lauren has a movie deal in the works! It looks like it was picked up by actress Jenna Dewan’s production company, which gives me lots of hope this will be well casted. I am definitely here for more romance novels hitting TV and movie theaters.

Lastly, I want to show you a YouTube channel I’m currently loving: Helpful Vancouver Vet. It features a Canadian vet giving you pet tips. The first video I watched was how to properly handle and pick up a cat, featuring Claudia and Mr. Pirate. Mr. Pirate is also featured in the nail trimming video and he’s a big ball of cat. And I love him.

And always remember to SQUISH. THAT. CAT!

Don’t forget to share what super cool things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

  1. Todd says:

My find of the day (week?) is How to make a perfect Eurovision song.

  2. Cassandra says:

Diana Gabaldon just posted on her facebook page that Starz has renewed Outlander for seasons 5 and 6. Season 4 will premiere in November of 2018. https://www.facebook.com/AuthorDianaGabaldon/

    Here’s the Starz tweet https://twitter.com/Outlander_STARZ/status/994291582567264258

    Can’t wait!

  3. Claudia says:

Squish that Cat made my week! I’m now sending that video to everyone I know.

  4. Amanda says:

@Claudia: I want “squish that cat” to be the new “seize the day.”

  5. Emily C says:

My three year old twins are now running around the house shouting “Squish the cat!”- not sure if that was a win for our household but it’s awfully cute.

  6. Demi says:

See ya’ll next week in Reno!!! I hope pet doctor has a video on how to brush your cat’s teeth…I’ve been putting that one off…

  7. Susan says:

Speaking of cats in British Columbia, the Tiny Kittens YouTube live feed of three litters of kittens has totally obsessed me for the past few weeks. I’ve been totally invested in these kittens and their mamas. Things have been a bit rough at work, and this has been my therapy.

  8. Ren Benton says:

I saw a promo for The Bachelorette and observed a moment of silence for Elyse’s liver.

I’m… intrigued… by their choice of theme song in “Woman” by Kesha, which explicitly expresses lack of need for men. I mean, I approve, but since it’s a hetero dating game with a house full of dudes, it’s an interesting thematic selection.

I hope it foreshadows the season finale in which Becca declares the whole thing bullshit and rides off into the sunset man-free with her complimentary booze and new passport stamps.
