I’d like to request your help with building a game for our upcoming Podcast Live Show at RT (Thursday! 5/17! 5:30pm PT! Naples 4!) if you wouldn’t mind answering a brief survey.
This year, instead of trivia, I’m going to be hosting, with Robin Bradford, a lively and ridiculous game of Romance Feud. You remember Family Feud or Family Fortune, right? There was a “survey” of 100 people answering questions like, “Name a food you take on a picnic!” and “Name a job you don’t want to do at night.” Contestants have to guess the answers most popular in that survey, and the one with the most points wins.
WELL. I HAVE A SURVEY. And I’d like to humbly ask you to fill it out so I can build the Romance Feud game for next week. (OMG NEXT WEEK.) Ready? Here it is!
And if you’d like to open it in a separate link: here you go! Romance Feud!
Tune in or read the transcript to find out the survey results during our live show – or, if you’re going to be at RT, please join us (Thursday! 5/17! 5:30pm PT! Naples 4!) (We’ll give you the whole seat but you’ll only need the edge!) for what promises to be very silly fun or a hilarious disaster – either way.
And, as a thank you, please enjoy this video which never fails to make me laugh:
What a cute idea! I had fun with my answers. Can’t wait to hear it.
This is going to be fun!
Could we have a ‘fantasy football’ version too sometime? Because I really wanted to answer with ‘Chaim’ or ‘Chetan’, and Diprotodon shifter.
Drew a total blank on the name. Actually Googled lists of romance characters and still only managed a secondary character’s name. Absolutely refused to answer with Christian Grey.
So, other than that it was enjoyable. Have fun at RT.
Oh Max Bygraves!!
@kitkat9000
Well, the hero in Flowers From the Storm is, formally, Christian Langland, Duke of Jervaux.
I am sooo bad with names, so this question was the toughest for me.
I couldn’t fill out the survey because of questions about the first question. Is it asking for a generic romance hero given name that starts with Ch (in which case, we all know the answer is “Chance”) or is it seeking a particular character’s full name (in which case, I can’t answer at all)?
I can’t wait to see how this goes. Especially curious about how folks answered #s 2 and 4!
I answered #1 with a generic romance hero name, that I feel like I’ve read in multiple books, but couldn’t necessarily name any of those books. (I didn’t think of Chance until later)
It was a lot of fun to do the quiz – I tried to answer quickly and not overthink and I think that made it fun, since I’m usually Ms Over Thinker.
@Deborah: I’m looking for the first hero name that pops to mind that begins with a “CH-.” I’m not looking for a specific hero. Sorry for the confusion!
Thanks, @SB Sarah. Please feel free to delete my comment to avoid skewing the survey results to that specific answer.
@Deborah: No worries at all! If you had a question, chances are someone else had the same query, too. Thank you for asking!
This was fun!
Can you publish the results?
(After Romance Feud Podcast, duh)
I am really curious of the results.
Lol… I misunderstood the first one too and did answer Christian Gray (much to my utter dismay!) Although Christian would be my first thought anyway. Feel free to leave off the last name 😉
I went with my Great Uncle’s name. He would have to be an historical hero, though
My answer to number six was based on spending way too much time on this site.
VICKI –
Mine too!!!! (I think that’s what they want).
I second (or third) the idea of having the results printed—after the podcast, of course. Would love to see all the results and how “average” my responses were.
My first thought when I read ‘Romance Feud’ was: Is this more about cockygate?
I had fun with that
This was fun. I had to use the Google to verify my name choice and ended up naming a specific character. Cxxxxxxx Gxxx was my first departure, but I wouldn’t have used it either. Also, baby name sites made my eyes go all carousel. I work in a school; I know what people call their kids in the name of originality. However. . .
@Critterbee Thanks for the snort.
@critterbee: has cockygate been covered here? I was saving this link for Wednesday, but wondered if sbtb would have a post about it sooner. It seems absolutely bonkers:

@kitkat9000 Me too! I was going through my Goodreads list until I finally found one. LOL I thought SBTB was looking for specific heroes, so I went with Chace Keaton from a Kristin Ashley book, but just Chace/Chase works too. Especially as my first thought was Lauren Dane’s Chase brothers series. LOL
Ok, really it was Edward Chase, but he doesn’t have his own book, even though I’m madly in love with him.
So fun! I can’t wait for the live recording. I will be there!
