Enchanted by Alethea Kontis is $1.99! This is a YA, fairy tale-inspired book and it’s the first in the Woodcutter Sisters series. Carrie reviewed the book previously and gave it a B+:
There’s a lot of mutual saving in this book and interestingly they mostly work together to save other people, not each other. I like this couple, I like the story, and I’m even more excited to read the next book, Hero. Each story is supposed to work as a stand alone with a shared work and some shared characters, so I’m excited. I don’t think this book is perfect (it’s really busy and rushed) and I don’t think it’s for everyone (melodrama) but I do think that Alethea has earned her tiara.
It isn’t easy being the rather overlooked and unhappy youngest sibling to sisters named for the other six days of the week. Sunday’s only comfort is writing stories, although what she writes has a terrible tendency to come true.
When Sunday meets an enchanted frog who asks about her stories, the two become friends. Soon that friendship deepens into something magical. One night Sunday kisses her frog goodbye and leaves, not realizing that her love has transformed him back into Rumbold, the crown prince of Arilland—and a man Sunday’s family despises.
The prince returns to his castle, intent on making Sunday fall in love with him as the man he is, not the frog he was. But Sunday is not so easy to woo. How can she feel such a strange, strong attraction for this prince she barely knows? And what twisted secrets lie hidden in his past—and hers?

Crossing the Ice
Crossing the Ice by Jennifer Comeaux is 99c at Amazon! If you’re knee-deep in Olympic figure skating, here’s a romance for you. The heroine is part of a pairs team and the hero is part of an opposing pairs team. Though the characters are in their early-twenties, some readers said they felt much younger. It has a 4-star rating on Goodreads.

Blank Spaces
Blank Spaces by Cass Lennox is 99c! Sarah read this one and gave it a B. She loved the characterization, but wanted more in the way of the book’s resolution.
I liked that the ending did not require either of them to compromise who they were and what they wanted. I liked that Vaughn accepted Jonah without judgment, and Jonah, while confused by Vaughn’s disinterest in sex, learned to accept Vaughn as well. I also liked the way the story explored themes of found family and the intimacy of friendships and platonic connections.
Absence is as crucial as presence.
The decision to stop dating has made Vaughn Hargrave’s life infinitely simpler: he has friends, an excellent wardrobe, and a job in the industry he loves. That’s all he really needs, especially since sex isn’t his forte anyway and no one else seems interested in a purely romantic connection. But when a piece is stolen from his art gallery and insurance investigator Jonah Sondern shows up, Vaughn finds himself struggling with that decision.

Immortally Yours by Lynsay Sands is $1.99! This is a second chance romance with a vampire and a vampire hunter. Readers really enjoyed the heroine, but felt a majority of the drama and conflict could have used a bit more oomph. Have you read this one?

I do like the cover of Blank Spaces. Modern yet a bit retro without being weird or confusing.
OK at first glance I did not see the punctuation and thought it said Figure Skating Vampires…so could there be a new genre of Paranormal Olympic Event Romances?? Shifters doing Half Pipe and Moguls and who would excel at Curling??
I’ve read both Enchanted (actually the audiobook of this, it’s very well done) and Blank Spaces. They’re both quite good. Blank Spaces kind of left me with an odd feeling at the end, I’ve never quite been able to verbalize what. I enjoyed it but it was almost bittersweet, even with the HEA, I guess? I enjoyed it, overall, though.
I want to say thanks to everyone for all the figure skating/winter sports book recommendations. I love The Cutting Edge, and I’m happy to find more books in that vein. So thanks!
I think that the romance part of “Immortally Yours” wasn’t that strong, but I loved the heroine & enjoyed the big confrontation between the h/h towards the end. I’m impressed that the series is still going as well as it is after so long… I think this is like the ~26th book? I always count on Lynsay Sands for silly, fluffy fun.
That’s a lovely skirt he’s wearing on the Imortally Yours cover… I wonder if he’ll pair it with an equally fetching top? I think a gauzy peasant blouse in white with a simple leather vest over it would be striking. And Birkenstocks.

The mystery of Blank Spaces was pretty obvious, but I liked that it was an art heist mystery rather than a murder. The romance is *amazing* and what makes me love the book.
Being asexual myself, I really, *really* related to Vaughn. It was the first romance I had read where I felt like I truly saw someone like *me* in the pages; his commentary both made me laugh, and I was saying “yes, you *get* it!” as I read. I was thinking “yes, *this* is how I view the world, finally, someone else who understands it.”
Blank Spaces is *amazing*, and I highly recommend it.
