2018 SBTB Hanukkah-palooza, Part Four

A menorah against a blue and white background with the new ladies quadrant in a frame next to the menorahIt’s time for the fourth night of Hanukkah, and our fourth giveaway!

The fourth night is usually when I make more latkes, probably spicy sweet potato, and am thinking that toasting marshmallows over the menorot might make for an excellent dessert options.

Today we have a collection of soft, warm, fuzzy, and squishy items to create your own reading space.

Ready?

We have a It’s Book O’Clock pillow, and that’s my favorite time of day, really.

Book O Clock pillow, pride and prejudice infinity scarf, out of print socks and tote

There is also a Pride and Prejudice infinity scarf in ivory from LiteratiClub. It measures 60″ (150-153 cm) inches around and 14″-15″ (36-38 cm) inches wide, and is made of cotton-poly-rayon blend jersey. It is so soft and really snuggly.

Persuasion, I did this for Enish Literature O Level and was fortunate enough to have a brilliant english teacher who helped us see the commentary on manners and the pokes at vrious kinds of people. She also played us a BBC Radio Four series dramatising Pesuasion. And completely off topic for a fundrasing event she walked across the school hall stage on her hands, particularly impressive as she had long hair which she wore loose!

Lord of Scoundrels is a classic of Historical romance. That book makes me so happy.

  20. Dena says:

Anne of Green Gables is my all time favourite classic, with The Princess Bride not far behind. Anne wins on nostalgia points, though.

    My favorite classic is Dracula.

  22. Lina says:

I love this theme. Pride and Prejudice gets my vote. To be followed closely by Persuasion. Perfect for this time of year.

  23. Miss Louisa says:

Jane Eyre, The Secret Garden, and Rebecca. I especially like re-read the part where Jane tells Rochester she is a person. Her sense of agency Was awesome to read as a shy teen.

  24. JessiG says:

    Pride and Prejudice. Always.

Favorite classic children’s book (going with “children’s literature” as a genre) is probably The Secret Garden.

  32. Jill-Marie says:

    Black Beauty!

  33. Francene says:

My favorite children’s classic has to be The secret princess or Sara Crewe. I end up reading it almost every year.

  34. Michelle says:

My favorite classic is Persuasion, which is odd, because I don’t like in contemporary romances when exes get back together, but Jane Austen does it to perfection. ❤️❤️

  35. Amy Kate says:

    Lord of Scoundrels

  36. Kris Bock says:

I don’t know if it’s really my absolute favorite, but I noticed the George MacDonald fantasy collection when I was organizing my Kindle last night. The Princess and the Goblin gives me warm fuzzy feelings.

  37. Kareni says:

    Happy Hanukkah!

What fun gifts …. Thanks for the chance to win. My favorite classic is actually a romance, The Scarlet Pimpernel.

  38. Hope-and-Memory says:

    Pride and Prejudice!

  39. Vicki says:

Don’t know if it’s considered a classic – I love One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez on so many levels. Excellent women characters, magical realism, an acute understanding of a part of history that our country played a huge role in and about which we know very little. Plus my copy was given to me by a man I will always love although we were not able to be together on an ongoing basis.

  40. Theodora says:

My favorite is so hard to choose. I think I will go with Three Musketeers by Dumas. It’s a series of fun adventures held together by intrigue and it stands up well to re-reading.
