The Lady Traveler’s Guide to Scoundrels and Other Gentlemen
Update: Deal no longer valid.
The Lady Travelers Guide to Scoundrels and Other Gentlemen by Victoria Alexander is 99c! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and is being price matched. Readers were really into the plot, but mention that it takes a while to really get going. Have you read this one?
Embark on the breathtaking romantic adventures of The Lady Travelers Society in the brand-new series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Victoria Alexander
Really, it’s too much to expect any normal man to behave like a staid accountant in order to inherit the fortune he deserves to support the lifestyle of an earl. So when Derek Saunders’s favorite elderly aunt and her ill-conceived—and possibly fraudulent—Lady Travelers Society loses one of their members, what’s a man to do but step up to the challenge? Now he’s escorting the world’s most maddening woman to the world’s most romantic city to find her missing relative.
While India Prendergast only suspects his organization defrauds gullible travelers, she’s certain a man with as scandalous a reputation as Derek Saunders cannot be trusted any farther than the distance around his very broad shoulders. As she struggles not to be distracted by his wicked smile and the allure of Paris, instead of finding a lost lady traveler, India just may lose her head, her luggage and her heart.

Dressed to Kiss
Dressed to Kiss is $2.99! This is an anthology featuring romances by Madeline Hunter, Caroline Linden, Megan Frampton, and Myretta Robens. Readers love that all four stories have a common connection and seems to be rather well-received on Goodreads.
True love never goes out of style….
Once renowned for creating the most envied gowns in London, Madame Follette’s dressmaking shop has fallen far out of fashion. The approaching coronation of King George IV offers a chance to reclaim former glory by supplying stunning new wardrobes to the most glittering society in Regency England. In the face of long-held secrets, looming scandals, and the potential ruin of their shop, the dressmakers of Follette’s are undaunted, not even by the most unexpected complication of all: true love.
The Duke’s Dressmaker by Madeline Hunter
When the Duke of Barrowmore walks into the dress shop, Selina Fontaine assumes her secret identity will compromised. Four years ago this man’s brother seduced her and abandoned her to scandal, and she holds the duke responsible. To her amazement the duke is more interested in pursuing her than exposing her, however—and that pursuit soon becomes seductively pleasurable.
The Colors of Love by Myretta Robens
Delyth Owen’s exuberant passion for her new job as a dressmaker at Madame Follette’s is matched only by her love of diverse, vibrant, and frequently unfortunate color combinations. Simon Merrithew, the pseudonymous author of a well-regarded fashion column, is horrified by the gown Delyth creates for a friend, and suspects her motives. He sets out to uncover her duplicity, but instead, he uncovers genuine joy and discovers the colors of love.
No Accounting for Love by Megan Frampton
Miss Katherine Grant is a lady’s companion, one whose number of dishonorable offers (six) greatly outweigh her honorable ones (zero). Now tasked with making certain her charge, Lady Euphemia, does not contract herself to someone inappropriate, she finds herself inexplicably drawn to Mr. Henry Dawkins, the inappropriate gentleman Lady Euphemia wants to charm, who keeps the books at Madame Follette’s. But it seems that Henry only has eyes for Miss Katherine Grant.
A Fashionable Affair by Caroline Linden
Madame Follette’s is Felicity Dawkins’s birthright; her mother founded it, and now she runs it. She’s fiercely committed to making it the most exclusive modiste in London. The Earl of Carmarthen also has big plans for the shop—he wants to buy it and tear it down, to make way for a grand new boulevard of shops. One way or another, he’s determined to persuade Felicity…not only to sell her shop, but to explore the passion that sparks between them every time they meet.

The Lady Meets Her Match
The Lady Meets Her Match by Gina Conkle is 99c! This historical romance is the second book in the Midnight Meetings series, though it can function as a standalone. If you’re into fairy tale elements, this one has a heavy Cinderella vibe. However, others wished there were more of a plot involved.

When the clock chimes midnight and she’s nowhere to be found, Cyrus vows to scour all of London to uncover who she is. Little does he know that not only does Claire Mayhew not want to be found, but she wants nothing to do with him at all…

I bought the holiday pleasures bundle last year and thoroughly enjoyed it! I don’t think I’ve read a Theresa Romain book I didn’t like.
Shouldn’t there be an apostrophe in Lady Travelers Guide? That’s all I can see when I look at the cover. The editor’s curse . . .
Do people who write “1-star because PORNOGRAPHY!!!!!” reviews have any idea how many books their pearl clutching sells?
I know when I hear Theresa Romain, the first thing that comes to my mind is dicks everywhere, all the time. My stars and garters, I fear for the welfare of the horse on the cover! *faints*
Anyhoo, those are 4 full-length novels in that box. Even if you already have some of them, $2.99 is a good deal to round out the set.
@Ren Benton
“Do people who write “1-star because PORNOGRAPHY!!!!!” reviews have any idea how many books their pearl clutching sells?”
Bwahahahahaha!
That’s why I always check the 1 star reviews first.
@Ren Benton I feel that if you’re ever asked to blurb one of her novels, you should absolutely include “I know when I hear Theresa Romain, the first thing that comes to my mind is dicks everywhere, all the time.” Copies would fly off the shelves.
Is the woman on the cover of Dressed to Kiss missing an arm?
Audible.com has an ‘Anne of Green Gables’ audiobook for FREE today (part of their 20th anniversary giveaway/deals). It’s read by Rachel McAdams – I’ve no idea if she’s a good narrator or not, but for 0.00, I’m more than willing to give her a chance. 🙂
I read Lady Travelers and it was just…okay. The heroine is a prig who learns how to stop being a prig, so that’s good. The heroine is supposedly a former rogue who isn’t all that rogueish. He’s okay but not exciting. The book sounds like it’s going to be a traveling mystery but literally isn’t (they literally solve nothing, by design). That was…odd.
Jesse Hayworth’s Winter at Mustang Ridge which has been recommended here several times is on sale for 1.99.
I tried Lady Travelers Guide and did not get very far. I am glad to hear from Jennifer’s comments that I did not miss much. It was supposedly set in the later Victorian era, but lacked any attempt at historical plausibility as far as I could see.
@Jennifer
Thanks for your short review!
Prevented me from 1-cliking the book, which, from the blurb, sounded like ALL_MY_CATNIP!
Will get the Romain instead (and not only for the dicks ;)) )
Did anyone else think that the description of “Lady Travelers” sounded like Travels with My Aunt?
I got the Theresa Romain bundle – first time reading her and I am enjoying them A LOT!
I hadn’t realised that “Am I a rake or an I actually nice after all?” was one of my catnips, but OMG, it really is!
Plus, tight trousers on a well-honed thigh…
So, hurray for that and thanks for the rec!
