Sizzling Book Club Chat: Ransom by Julie Garwood

Book Ransom Tonight at 9pm ET, the window below will go live with our monthly book club chat! Grab a beverage and a snack and come join us – the chats are always fun!

This month we are discussing Ransom by Julie Garwood, a book that many, many romance readers say is their favorite Garwood – or their favorite romance of all time.

And yes, prepare for excellent fun, as Julie Garwood will join us at 10:00 pm ET for a Q&A. (I'm trying to contain myself, here, but the urge to use more exclamation points is STRONG.)

Really, trying to be cool here.

Totally cool.

Ahem.

I hope you can join us tonight at 9pm – book club is a terrific event, and everyone is welcome!

Gah! I have to take pictures at the county fair tonight so I’m going to miss it, which means I’m giving my 2 cents now: Ransom was my very first Garwood, and is still my favorite [although The Wedding and The Gift are close behind in a tie for second, and I’m still waiting for Faith’s story (Gillian’s sister — you just know she and Colin will be good)]. What I love about Garwood is a) she always, always makes me laugh, even when re-reading for the billionth time as I have been over the past week; and b) even when she’s writing her most-beautiful, most-perfect-of-all-time heroines, you love them anyway simply because she makes them just flawed enough that you don’t have to be annoyed; and c) who hasn’t fallen at least a little in love with most of her heroes? So bummed I won’t get to participate, but looking forward to catching up later. Have fun bitchery!

This was my first Garwood, and I still love it! I bought it at the grocery store when I was 17 on a whim because the cover was so simple but pretty. I still love her books.

I was reading this book, literally, when I met my husband. I should have been studying but both the man and the book were excellent distractions. This one holds a special place in my heart. Sadly, I’m on the other side of the world right now (Singapore) and my littles will be up and running during the book chat. Hope I’ll be able to catch up with later. I hope you have a FANTASTIC time interviewing Ms. Garwood!!!

Oh my God, I think I just died of happiness!! Finally getting to read through the chat and her next historical is going to be Quinlan (why I renamed him Colin above is beyond me, although in my defense a lot of the “second-in-command/best-friends” had similar names and I’d just finished rereading ALL of them) and Faith?!?!!!!!! HURRAY!!!!! I’ve been waiting a good 12 years for this!!! I am literally grinning like an idiot and trying (unsuccessfully) not to squirm with joy in my chair at work. This just made my day/week/month/year, and I can’t wait to call and tell my friend Tiffany, who first introduced me to the world of Garwood.
