Awesome video. Many of the things they mention really apply to Norway too, though. Free health care, lots of beautiful nature, very strict gun laws and many wild animals. We may not have two official spoken languages, but with a population of only 5 million, we still have two written languages. : )

  2. Cheryl McInnis says:

Your canoe paddle only counts if you paid for it with toonies and loonies 😉

  3. It’s OK, Sarah, you can have honorary Canadian status anytime you want it 🙂

The video IS awesome—even more so when you consider that the people who made it, Andrew Gunadie and Julia Bentley, wanting to do something special for Canada Day, sat down together on a Sunday night and wrote the song, recorded it that night, then took Andrew’s tripod out to the London Ontario canoe club the next day and, without anyone else helping them, filmed the whole thing. In one day. By themselves. I’m in awe, anyway…

  4. *Sigh*  I’m ready for another trip to Quebec now.  Or maybe Vancouver.

    Thanks for sharing.

  5. Chicklet says:

I love that video so much! I watch it every year on Canada Day. ‘Cause you know I want to be Canadian, please.

  6. Caroline says:

I love it! And you can come be Canadian whenever you want, just bring your toque, cuz its gonna start getting colder here soon. 😉

  7. I *had* to send that to my friend in Vancouver. And maybe I’ll go up and live with her, too. She’s got some amazing views.

    Awesome video!!

  8. Nat says:

“Your canoe paddle only counts if you paid for it with toonies and loonies ;-)”

    LOL

    I AM Canadian, please!

  9. Teri C says:

Oh my gosh that made me snort coffee through my nose! THanx for the great Friday video. I look forward for the friday videos.

  10. geekgirl says:

LOL! love it. Although, do I have to give back my citizenship since I’ve been trying to get RID of my canoe?  Wait! That solves the problem Sarah, you can have it then you’re good.

  11. Francesca too says:

My daughter and son-in-law are in Montreal this week for a meeting. I’m jealous!

  12. Antonia Girmacea says:

LOL! This is just as good as the Jane Austen Fight Club video. Imagine if they’d combine the two.

  13. Linsalot says:

A lovely video to watch while enjoying my Tim’s Double Double 😉

  14. sweeney says:

It’s frikkin chilly up here right now folks….19 degrees! And I honestly did buy a toque this week. It has this awesome 70s vibe going on, brown with orange and yellow stripes….what??! There’s NOTHING unnatural about buying a toque in August. (And don’t even get me started if you don’t know what a toque is….)

  15. geekgirl says:

LOL, I cleaned out the closet the other day and sorted the tuques, scarves, and gloves. I’m blaming the fact I’m doing a whole house purge rather than the fact the air changed August 1st. 🙂

  16. SonomaLass says:

I upset someone the other day at a party. He said “That dang Obama, with his health care reform, he’s trying to turn us into Canada.” I responded “I wish!” and he sort of growled and walked away.

  17. fifi trixibelle says:

Well, I better go see if my Mountie wants to act out a Jennifer Cruise scenario.  Without spurs.

spamword: showed67 ( I don’t want to touch that with a canoe paddle)

  18. Kelly Jamieson says:

That is an awesome video! Okay, nuff toque jokes, it’s AUGUST and 100 degrees with the humidex here! Very, very cute, I love it!

  19. Jenna E. says:

Hi, I just wanted to say that I have really enjoyed this music video!  Thanks for pointing it out. I used to live in Michigan just 1 hour away from the Canadian border and so Canada has always been near to my heart. I think it’s a great country.

  20. ashley says:
