Happy Tuesday! A bit of a bite-sized Hide Your Wallet this week, with one release leftover from late last week that I neglected to include. I can hardly believe October is nearly over! Time to consult my November TBR pile, so it doesn’t sneak up on me. Which releases are you excited about this week? Let us know in the comments!
And They Lived Happily Ever After by Therese Beharrie is $1.99! This came out last November and was mentioned on Hide Your Wallet. I believe we also mentioned it on our round up of witchy romances!
Sure Shot by Sarina Bowen is 99c! This is book four in the Brooklyn series, which I believe is a spin-off of the Brooklyn Bruisers series. Both, however, involve hockey and hockey players.
The Duke Heist by Erica Ridley is $1.99! This is book one in a new series and was mentioned on a previous Hide Your Wallet. Elyse was super excited about the heist element, though I remember her mentioning that there’s a malecalico kitten and how that’s rather rare, though not impossible.
How to Fail at Flirting by Denis Williams is $2.99! This is a recent release; it came out in December. It was also featured on a previous Hide Your Wallet. Warning for this one as the heroine has left an abusive relationship and it plays a significant part of the romance, with the heroine working through her trauma.
Mistletoe and Mr. Right by Sarah Morgenthaler is $2.99! This is one of today’s Kindle Daily Deals and is an opposites attract holiday rom-com. I feel like I also need to mention that at one point, the heroine accidentally shoots the hero with a moose tranquilizing dart.
Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts by Kate Racculia is $2.99! This is a price-matched Kindle Daily Deal, which features some romance as well! This one reminded me a lot of The Westing Game and was a ton of fun, if you’re in the mood for light reading that sets a great pace.
RECOMMENDED: A Gentleman Never Keeps Score by Cat Sebastian is $1.99! Carrie read this one and enjoyed it. It was given a B+ grade:
I enjoyed this book so much! A Gentleman Never Keeps Score is a Regency m/m about a disgraced gentleman and a Black pub keeper. The book has a lovely romance as well as a theme of found family and recovery from trauma.
Stripped is an uncomplicated romance between two goofy, sexy people. It has a sweetness to it that’s reminiscent of a contemporary friends to lovers trope. If that hits all of your buttons, do read this!
The Most Dangerous Duke in London by Madeline Hunter is $1.99! This is book one in the Decadent Dukes Society series and all three books are on sale. The hero wants revenge and the heroine just wants to go about publishing her women’s journal. Readers like the enemies to lovers aspect of the romance, but others wouldn’t recommend this one on audio as the narrator didn’t fit for them.
RECOMMENDED: Cold-Hearted Rake by Lisa Kleypas is $1.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and, the other deals include more romances and some historical fiction. Check them out! Elyse reviewed this one and gave it an A:
Cold-Hearted Rake has the elements that make me love Kleypas so much as a writer: female friendships, a hero who is a rake but somehow also emotionally aware, a setting that’s fully developed and not a backdrop, and scalding sexual tension.
