RECOMMENDED: Girls of Brackenhill by Kate Moretti is $1.99! Elyse reviewed this thriller last year and and gave it a B+ and mentioned there was a twist she didn’t see coming:
Girls of Brackenhill is spooky and thrilling and contains all the Gothic elements I love. It’s a fun read for your dark winter nights.

If you’re new to Hide Your Wallet, this is where we list new releases we’re pretty excited for in the coming month. Each reviewer has a book maximum (five per person), but we’ve separated HYW into two parts. The first HYW of the month will cover books that release from the 1st to the 14th. The second HYW will cover books released from the 15th to the end of the month. We also think this … Continue reading February 2021 New Releases, Part Two →
As a Canadian, my little ears perk up whenever I hear about an f/f romance that has anything to do with Canada. So, when I saw that Hairpin Curves is a road trip romance that takes the characters from Florida to Quebec, I said “Oh yes, please and thank you!” Although we see very little of them in Canada, I still enjoyed parts of this story because the angst is low, which is my speed … Continue reading Hairpin Curves by Elia Winters →

We have a whole new batch of new releases to discuss. And by “batch,” I mean over forty! We also have two books with the same title released this month, which I thought was kind of neat. I think we’ve name-checked all the big releases; I couldn’t think of anything we left off. If we did, please chime in below. What November books are on your to-read list?
Even Odds by Elia Winters is 99c! This is an erotic contemporary romance. I also mentioned it on a previous Hide Your Wallet post! Reviews of the book say that readers loved the setting of the gaming industry, but found the hero and heroine lacked chemistry. The next two books in the series are also on sale and they feature a submissive hero and a gay romance, respectively.

Fool Me Once by Katee Robert is 99c! This is a contemporary romance with a video game-playing heroine who has anxiety, and an antagonistic cowboy hero. That sounds like all sorts of catnip. Readers loved the opposites attract romance, but mention that the book is on the shorter side.

Happy August, everyone! This is a smaller month for us at SBTB HQ in terms of books we’re excited about. (We have less than twenty this month!) So hopefully we won’t do too much damage to your budget. There are also a few other books coming out this month that are on readers’ radars, even though they didn’t make it onto our personal lists: The next installment in Kresley Cole’s YA series – Arcana Rising Mary … Continue reading August’s New Releases →
Even Odds by Elia Winters is $1.99! I’m not sure if this is the sale price or standard price, but it just came out today. I also mentioned it on this month’s Hide Your Wallet post! Early reviews of the book say that readers loved the setting of the gaming industry, but found the hero and heroine lacked chemistry. Any takers?

I have to admit that summer is my least favorite season. Good thing there are so many new releases coming out to keep me inside and in front of my fan. But first, here are some popular upcoming July books that didn’t make our personal list of picks: Victoria Schwab is starting a brand new series with This Savage Song . If you’re anxious to read the follow up to The Bourbon Kings, J.R. Ward’s The Angels’ Share is … Continue reading July’s New Releases →
Purely Professional was pretty fantastic. I’m going to have problems, again, being critical. Now, I would classify this as somewhere between erotica and erotic romance. The sex is integral to the relationship, but it is a relationship and there is an HEA of sorts at the end. So, Bridget writes for Sultry magazine, “sex-positive magazine for sex-positive women,” and they want edgier content, so Bridget’s new boss is kind of threatening about it and in … Continue reading Purely Professional by Elia Winters →
