Featured image for Vintage Cover Art Behind the Scenes with Sharon Spiak and Shirley Green

In Episode 606. Behind the Scenes of Classic Cover Art: Shirley Green and Sharon Spiak, I learned about the behind-the-scenes process of creating some of the romance covers I know very well. It was a fascinating conversation, and if you’re at all interested, there’s a transcript as well as a few pictures in the show notes. I also did a bonus episode video for the members of the podcast Patreon sharing images that Sharon and … Continue reading Vintage Cover Art Behind the Scenes with Sharon Spiak and Shirley Green

Books on Sale: The Duke of Dark Desires by Miranda Neville & More

RECOMMENDED: The Duke of Dark Desires by Miranda Neville is $1.99! This is the fourth and latest book in the Wild Quartet series. The earlier books also appear to be on sale. Elyse reviewed this and gave it an impressive A grade:

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. As far as historical romances go, it’s got a lot of everything good. The hero and heroine break stereotypes and are fully fleshed characters. There’s intrigue and eroticism aplenty. Just make sure you pace yourself and savor this one.

When You Wish Upon a Duke by Charis Michaels

When You Wish Upon a Duke

When You Wish Upon a Duke is a historical romance with Peter Pan references. Given that the heroine is named Isobel Tinker, I feared a whimsy overload. However, I ended up having a wonderful time with this ridiculous yet utterly enjoyable novel, in which a female travel agent and a duke who is doing one last job for the Foreign Office are forced to confront pirates in Iceland. I told you it was ridiculous! This … Continue reading When You Wish Upon a Duke by Charis Michaels

Cover Awe: Such Good Hair

Leather and Lace by Rebel Carter. Two women stand in a field with a coppery sky (sunset maybe?). One has gorgeous, shiny red hair and the other has platinum blonde pixie cut. Also shiny.

It’s pretty cover time! Cover design by Tammy Seidick Tara: I think this is the first cover from a lesfic publisher that made me say “whoa”. I really like the use of colour on it. Carrie: WHOA The color, the blocking – it looks so clean and modern and also sultry as hell. Tara: Right?! I’m in love. Susan: Oh I like that! Catherine: So dramatic! Amanda: Would love to see this as part of … Continue reading Cover Awe: Such Good Hair

Books on Sale: Lord Holt Takes a Bride by Vivienne Lorret & More

Lord Holt Takes a Bride by Vivienne Lorret is $1.99! This is the first book in The Mating Habits of Scoundrels series. I’m super curious about this one because it seems to take the kidnapping trope and flip it; the heroine’s friends kidnap the hero and it seems the heroine has to smooth things over. Have you read this one?

Books on Sale: Tempest by Beverly Jenkins & More

RECOMMENDED: Tempest by Beverly Jenkins is $1.99! This is the third book in the Old West series, but it can be read out of order. Elyse read this one and gave it an A-:

If you want a lot of emotional angst in your romance, then Tempest is not for you. If you’re looking for an amazing heroine, a great backdrop and a lot of action, then definitely pick this up.
