Welcome back to Cover Snark! From Carole: My immediate impression was that this was a Dental Office stock photo – snort, it did not immediately say: cowboy romance… Sarah: “Ask Dr. Decker about payment plans for your Invisalign!” Susan: Pretty sure that Decker cover wants to sell me life insurance Maya: Or like some poster at a planned parenthood encouraging couples to get std tests Amanda: Or it could be one of those photos that … Continue reading Cover Snark: Tara’s Got Zingers→
Tinsel and Tatas is 99c! This is a holiday rom com anthology and all of its proceeds will benefit the Young Survivor Coalition. This anthology features eighteen authors and I believe the sale was only good for this week, so it could change pretty soon!
Welcome back to Get Rec’d, with me, your lovely host, Amanda! I give a lot of book recommendations outside of SBTB, as I have a couple other book-related jobs. While I often give suggestions to readers on romance, I frequently recommend books in other genres too! Here are a few things I’ve recommended since last time! And, if you’d like to share your own recommendations that you’ve given to people in your life, or even … Continue reading Get Rec’d With Amanda! – Volume 3→
Born in Fire by Nora Roberts is $2.99! This is the first book in the Irish Born series and I remember this series being a huge favorite amongst reads. Do you have a favorite Roberts series?
It’s October! My favorite month! I love the cooler temperatures in New England, the changing leaves, and breaking out my fall wardrobe, which I look much cuter in than my summer attire. It’s hard to make boob sweat fashionable. We hope your reading selections have been bountiful and squee-worthy! If not, you’re always welcome to kvetch in the comments. Shana: I’m reading Office Hours by Katrina Jackson and it is fulfilling all my Hot Professor … Continue reading Whatcha Reading? October 2021, Part One→
My Heart is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones is $5.99! This is a little more expensive than our deals but seeing as how this book released slightly over a month ago and the library holds are probably pretty long, this could fit within a reader’s budget.
Amanda and I take a deep dive into interactive fiction with Rebecca Slitt from Choice of Games and Heart’s Choice. We get into the details of how interactive fiction works, and what the process of writing it is like – and we have some recommendations, never fear! … Music: purple-planet.com
For the Wolf by Hannah Whitten is $2.99! This is a dark romantic fantasy that was featured in Hide Your Wallet and was highly anticipated by me and Aarya. I remember starting it but finding it a little slow.
This Rec League comes from the comments in our latest Hide Your Wallet. Thanks to Merle for inspiring this one: I’m very wary of “man & woman compete for something and also fall in love” plots, because all the ones I’ve read end up with the man getting the prize and the woman getting the man. Because apparently only a man needs a job, a promotion, etcetera– a woman needs nothing but Mr. Right. If … Continue reading The Rec League: Heroine Wins in Rivalry Romances→
Welcome back to Wednesday Links! I’m currently in Austin, Texas for the next week. State government aside and everything that comes with it, I really love this place and briefly considered moving here. That may still be on the table and I believe this is my fourth time visiting. Oddly, a lot of my friends throughout life have ended up here – childhood neighbors, high school friends, grad school BFFs, and I’m reuniting with a … Continue reading Links: Blue, Barbies, & More→
