Skies of Fire by Zoe Archer is .99 right now. This is book 1 in the Ether Chronicles series, which she and her husband, author Nico Rosso, wrote in alternating sequence. This book has a 3.5-star average on GoodReads, and readers who liked it say that it’s a good start to a series that gets better with each book.
If there’s going to be a super high end wearable, it should stop time, right? This is our tenth year of April Foolery, and while I know some people hate April Fools, I love it. The more silly it is, the better. It’s an annual tradition around here, changing the landing page for April 1. We’ve inflicted many horrible and bizarre splash pages upon you. Here’s a look back at the previous April Fools. I … Continue reading April Fools 2015: The Year of the Wearable→
This Help a Bitch Out request is from Hailee, who is searching for a paranormal suspense novel with some crying involved: I am trying to find a book. Here are the parts I remember (hopefully it is the same book). Contemporary. A group of guys working together in a military/SEAL/security company/mercenary type way. (I’m leaning toward private sector, like security company, becuase I don’t think there was a military structure). Here is a part I … Continue reading HaBO: Paranormal Empath Makes the Dudes Cry→
RECOMMENDED: A Bollywood Affair by Sonali Dev is $2.99 at Amazon, and $2.51 at Google:Play. There are so many things I can say about this book: it was a Sizzling Book Club Pick, it’s a RITA® nominee, and the manuscript was a Golden Heart nominee, too. It was in the DABWAHA tournament, and so many readers I know enjoyed it. Normally it’s more than $9, so this sale is a perfect opportunity to try it if you’ve been curious.
This Help a Bitch Out request comes from Erin, who is seeking a historical she read that is…really memorable: I’ve decided to bite the bullet and ask the Bitchery a HABO. It’s one of the first romance novels I ever read and I’d like to go back and take a peek at it, to see if it is in fact, as bat-shit insane as I remember. It would be a single title, historical, probably published … Continue reading HaBO: Forced Marriage, Then Kidnapping, Then Pirates→
Well, bookshelves. Who can possibly have just one? I have recently moved (well, recently, like six months ago, but I lived in my last place for six years before that, so recently is relative) and as such I have had my hands on every book I own- twice. It’s a lot of books, and one of the requirements for a new place was enough places to put up my bookshelves… and roommates who would understand … Continue reading A Tour of Redheadedgirl’s Bookshelf→
RECOMMENDED: Three Weeks with Lady X by Eloisa James is $1.99! This is the first book in the Desperate Duchesses by the Numbers series. Elyse reviewed this almost a year ago and awarded it an A:
I really, really didn’t want this book to end. It was worth reading till two a.m., worth being exhausted the next day, worth all the feels it made me have, and it’s going straight to the top of my favorites list.
Star Princess is the most deranged book I’ve ever read. If this novella were a person, it would be someone who dropped a ton of ecstasy and rolled around in glitter and danced on a laptop while at a rave. This story demands a plot summary with spoilers so beware because I’m going to spoil EVERYTHING. Princess Ro’sa, who is green, is supposed to leave her home planet, Minjet, and go to Earth. Earth is a polluted mess … Continue reading The Star Princess by Jessica E. Subject→
It’s amazing how much conflict in romance novels stems from the hero and heroine not communicating. Of course, the most obvious example here is the Big Misunderstanding trope, but even more coherent couples sometimes have the hardest time having a coherent conversation. You Just Don’t Understand: Men and Women in Conversation is a limited book in scope and depth, but it does help explain why our heroes and heroines often seem to be having entirely … Continue reading You Just Don’t Understand by Deborah Tannen→
