My Kind of Wonderful by Jill Shalvis is $1.99! This is the second book in her Cedar Ridge contemporary romance series. Readers loved the chemistry between the hero and heroine, but some mentioned that they both came with a lot more baggage than they were expecting from a Shalvis romance. Have you read this one?
This HaBO request is from Amy, who is looking for a romance that was included in an anthology, so this might be a tough one: I am looking for a short story I read in a romance anthology within the last 2-3 years. I got the anthology from the library and read through all of the stories, without taking note of the author of the best story in the bunch. I’m hoping the author has lots of … Continue reading HaBO: One Night Stand at a Trade Expo→
This is a huge month for book releases. HUGE! We have twenty books this time and our TBR piles are just getting bigger and bigger. So much for Spring cleaning. And of course, don’t forget to tell us what new releases you’re excited about this month!
This is the second book in the Scandalous Sisters series, and the first Greenwood I’ve read. Elizabeth, the heroine, is one of those young women who had very little in the way of boundaries while she grew up, and uses the attention she got as a purveyor of ridiculous schemes as a substitute for parental love. Caught up in this whirl of gaiety is Tommy Halifax, who, at the ripe old age of 23 decides that … Continue reading How to Handle a Scandal by Emily Greenwood→
The sexual tension in this book was really well done, and I loved the slow and organic way that Olivia and Phinn looked past “London’s Least Likely” and “The Mad Baron” to fall in love with the actual person they were married to. Reading about both of them coming out of their shells was a delight.
First off, I’d like to send a big thank you to the readers who send us this craziness. A few of the covers below were sent to us and it means a lot that every time you see a badly photoshopped physique or a questionable bulge you think of us. From Reader PT, who says, “Not sure which is worse, the title, or the cover. So many things, it’s overwhelming to know where to start … Continue reading Cover Snark: Bored Heroines and Guitar Genies→
Welcome to Part II of You’re So Organized, where I wank on for 2000+ words about how much of my life I run with Google Calendars, and feel the chilling vulnerability of letting everyone see exactly how goofy my brain is. My brain is very goofy. In Part I, I gave an explanation of the basic tools in G:Cal, including new appointments, repeating appointments, and scheduling reminders in advance. Now it’s time to talk color and managing separate calendars! Before … Continue reading Organizing Absolutely Everything with Google Calendars: Part II – Color and Calendars→
Blood Bound by Rachel Vincent is 99c at most vendors! This is the first book in an urban fantasy series with some romantic elements between ex-lovers. Readers loved the heroine and her ability to track the paranormal. However, some mentioned that the book’s shifting POVs can get confusing. It has a 3.8-star rating on Goodreads.

If you like thrillers, you’re in luck! Elyse reviews two of them this week, including The Widow, which is everywhere right now. Plus, Sarah reads a book by Elle Pierson, a pseudonym of Lucy Parker, who wrote the very squee-worthy Act Like It.
Sarah: Desk Set! BRING IT ON. Amanda: I’m in my bathrobe and eating dry Captain Crunch out of the box. Let’s do this. Sarah: It was mostly lovely and hilarious and a perfect movie to watch when I was awake but too hopped up on cold medicine to do anything. Katharine Hepburn can get me through any and all colds from now on. Carrie: There are some ways in which this movie has aged horribly … Continue reading Smart Bitches Movie Matinee: The Desk Set→
