Links: Saving the Bees, Billy Crystal, & More

Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses. It’s Wednesday! It’s the last Wednesday of April and we hope you all had a great Easter, Passover, or just weekend in general. I did absolutely nothing besides lounged around the house and play video games. It was fantastic; sometimes you just need a lazy weekend. This Saturday is Independent Bookstore Day. If you have a local indie you love, be sure to grab some books!

Netflix has announced a lesbian teen romantic comedy, starring two actresses of color! It’s going to be directed by Alice Wu, who directed Saving Face, which was a previous SB Movie Matinee. The movie will also have a Cyrano de Bergerac vibe.

If you loved the Rachel Hawkins podcast interview, Sarah is going to be in conversation with her for an event at East City Bookshop in D.C. on May 8th. The event is free!

PornHub has launched a campaign to save the bees. Watch their bee/pollination porn parodies and they’ll made donations to relevant organizations based on the amount of views their videos get. Not going to lie; I’m not mad about it.

GQ has ranked Billy Crystal’s outfits from When Harry Met Sally. I highly disagree with the outfit that topped the list. How do you feel?

I am obsessed with this adorable fantasy adventure comic, A Nice Long Walk by Jake Lawrence, a.k.a. Timecowboy. It won’t take you very long to catch up.

..

Don’t forget to share what super cool things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

I am, rather belatedly, working my way through the In Death series. I’ve been devouring them at the rate of about 2 a day – I’m a very fast reader & there doesn’t seem to be a big rush for them on Overdrive. So very enjoyable!

Oh, and I came across this: https://www.fye.com/bob-ross-the-joy-of-cereal-fye.000000793396121007.html I love the idea of Happy Accidents marshmallows!

I actually love that Pornhub is trying bring attention to the plight of our bees. This is an issue I’m very concerned about, and for a website that I’m guessing gets tons of traffic-anything that brings people’s awareness to a worthy cause is a very good thing in my book.

What Maureen said. As an avid pollinator gardener, I am happy to see those bumblebees getting busy in my front yard.

  6. Sarah F says:

As a beekeeper, let me tell you we need all the help we can get. This isn’t a thing I thought I’d say, but… Thanks PornHub! Way to make the world a better place!

  7. EJ says:

What would the porn industry do without the birds and BEES???!!!
