  • I’ll Have What He’s Having

I’ll Have What He’s Having by Adib Khorram

I’ll Have What He’s Having by Adib Khorram is $2.99 and a KDD! Dahlia mentioned this one in her Queer Romance Roundup. Carrie also gave it a B-:

This was a lovely read that didn’t ask too much of my emotions. It was comforting but forgettable. I could read a chapter, wander off, and not think of it again for a month…but when I did get around to picking it up, I instantly remembered how warm and fuzzy it was.

A smart, tender, vivacious romantic comedy about mistaken identities, the line between love and sex, and the way one night—and one person—can change your life forever.

When it comes to love, Farzan Alavi is a disaster. After his most recent heartbreak, he’s drowning his sorrows at Kansas City’s newest wine bar. Only instead of being crowded between strangers, he’s escorted to a VIP table for one. There, the hot sommelier does more than treat him to the meal of his life. The way he flirts with Farzan ignites instant sparks.

There’s just one problem: David Curtis thinks Farzan is Frank Allen, Kansas City’s most influential food critic. The truth only comes out after the two spend an unforgettably hot night together. Good news—both think the mix-up is hilarious. Bad news—David is studying to become a master sommelier and has no interest in a relationship.

Neither expects their paths to cross again . . . until Farzan inherits his family’s bistro and needs David’s restaurant knowledge. The two agree to an exchange: David will answer Farzan’s questions, and Farzan will help David study for his test. Only business turns to pleasure when neither can ignore the attraction still sizzling between them. But with David set on moving after his test, and Farzan committed to his family’s restaurant, how can their relationship last past the expiration date?

  • The Favorites

    The Favorites by Layne Fargo

The Favorites by Layne Fargo is $2.99! I’m hoping this sale lasts! Some of my reader friends really loved this one, but I’m unsure if this is a romance or if it’s mainly fiction with romantic elements. Please tell me your thoughts on the comments!

To the world, they were a scandal. To each other, an obsession.

An epic love story set in the sparkling, savage sphere of elite figure skating about a woman determined to carve her own path on and off the ice

She might not have a famous name, funding, or her family’s support, but Katarina Shaw has always known that she was destined to become an Olympic skater. When she meets Heath Rocha, a lonely kid stuck in the foster care system, their instant connection makes them a formidable duo on the ice. Clinging to skating—and each other—to escape their turbulent lives, Kat and Heath go from childhood sweethearts to champion ice dancers, captivating the world with their scorching chemistry, rebellious style, and rollercoaster relationship. Until a shocking incident at the Olympic Games brings their partnership to a sudden end.

As the ten-year anniversary of their final skate approaches, an unauthorized documentary reignites the public obsession with Shaw and Rocha, claiming to uncover the “real story” through interviews with their closest friends and fiercest rivals. Kat wants nothing to do with the documentary. But she can’t stand the thought of someone else defining her legacy either. So, after a decade of silence, she’s telling her story: from the childhood tragedies that created her all-consuming bond with Heath to the clash of desires that tore them apart. Sensational rumors have haunted their every step for years, but the truth may be even more shocking than the headlines.

Inspired by the powerful love and hate that fuel Emily Bronte’s classic, Wuthering Heights, The Favorites is an exhilarating dance between passion, ambition, and what it truly means to win.

  • A Pack for Winter

A Pack for Winter by Eliana Lee

A Pack for Winter by Eliana Lee is $1.99! This is book two in the Cozyverse series, which is an omegaverse, why choose novel. I’m very curious about this series as I’ve never read any omegverse books before, but I this may be too twee for me.

She’s resigned to being single. They’re on a mission to change her mind.

Ivy Noelle Winter is content with being a 31-year-old unbonded omega with no prospects of a pack. She adores teaching fifth grade, she has wonderful friends — and that baking show marathon isn’t going to watch itself.

Until a snowstorm and power outage traps Ivy in her classroom after hours…with three men.

Rome, the new alpha music teacher.

James, the flirtatious beta vet he’s bonded to.

And Logan, the town’s grumpy alpha electrician.

Their scents call to Ivy and her body answers, setting off her first-ever mini heat. When the pheromones settle, she gets a proposition beyond her wildest dreams—a chance to be a pack.

But there’s no such thing as a perfect courtship, especially when the biggest roadblock to happiness might be Ivy herself.

A Pack for Winter is a standalone MMFM why choose small town romance. It is part of the Cozyverse shared universe, bringing you cozy omegaverse full of heart, heat and humor.

  • Dream On

    Dream On by Angie Hockman

Dream On by Angie Hockman is $1.99! This is a contemporary romance with amnesia. I’m very curious how that shakes out, but I don’t want to look up any spoilers just in case I ever read this one.

What would you do if your dream man turned out to be real?

When law student Cass Walker wakes up after surviving a car accident, she is flooded with memories of her boyfriend, Devin. The only problem? Devin doesn’t exist. But everything she remembers about him feels so real, like the precise shade of his coffee-brown eyes; the texture of his favorite hand-me-down scarf; even the slightly crooked angle of his pinkie, broken after falling off a trampoline in third grade. She knows he’s a figment of her imagination—friends, family, and doctors confirm it—but she still can’t seem to get him out of her head.

So when she runs into the real Devin a year later in a Cleveland flower shop, she’s completely shocked. Even more surprising is that Devin actually believes her story, and soon they embark on a real-life romance. With her dream man by her side and an upcoming summer job at a prestigious law firm, Cass’s future seems perfect. But fate might have other plans…

  1. VerityW says:

I’ve read The Favourites and I would class it as fiction with romantic elements. There’s lots going on – and (even) if you’re (only) a casual figure skating fan (say every four years for the olympics) you may be able to spot some real life skating dramas that might have inspired some of the characters. I liked it a lot*, but it’s not a romance-romance.

*and i’m a big figure skating fan and it was accurate enough not to cause me annoyance.

  4. Trix says:

I was mesmerized by the first half of The Favorites (entirely due to the skating intrigue), but the couple’s TSTL qualities and inexplicable behavior soured me by the end. It is apparently a Wuthering Heights retelling to a certain extent (should have realized from the character names), which may dictate how much you enjoy it or not.

  7. Merle says:

I’ve read A PACK FOR WINTER and the other 3 cozyverse novels by Emilia Emerson & Eliana Lee. The setting is a quirky small town with a matchmaking cat, but the characters have real issues (grief, recovering from previous abusive relationships, health). There are also many, many pages of graphic sex (too much for me, actually, but the relationships kept me reading).

  8. KarenF says:

I’m a very big fan of figure skating, and generally read as much “skatefic” as I can get my hands on. But I could not make it through “The Favorites.” I also basically hate Wuthering Heights, and this book came in, on balance, way too much Wuthering, and not enough skating for me.
