Wait for It by Mariana Zapata is 99c! There are a bunch of Zapata’s romances on sale this week, so definitely fill in any TBR gaps if you can. Though the heroine has ties to a character in one of Zapata’s previous books, it can be read as a standalone.

I was underwhelmed by THE WOMAN IN THE LIBRARY. If you’re expecting a contemporary locked-room whodunnit, this book is not that…it’s more of a thriller, except all the “shocking” revelations felt very repetitive.
The Raven Scholar looks like fun. Has anyone read it?
KitBee, I agree. The Woman in the Library was a DNF for me. I just couldn’t get into it and gave up about 50 pages in.
THE TOMB OF DRAGONS by Katherine Addison is $2.99 on kindle. I don’t know quite how it relates to THE GOBLIN EMPEROR—one of my all-time favorite fantasy books—but I don’t care. I’ll find out when I read it. It’s mine now!

@ReadKnitSnark: You’ll get more out of it if you read the whole Chronicles series. They build on each other. Maia shows up a little, but not much. The series follows Celehar.

Agreed, The Woman in the Library was massively disappointing.
I also couldn’t with the Royals and Romance series. Admittedly I didn’t try this second book, but the first one was bad enough.
The Tomb of Dragons is great, hugely recommended, but you’ll definitely want to read Witness for the Dead and The Grief of Stones first if you haven’t already. They’re in the world of The Goblin Emperor but I found them very different. Possibly better! Although I was very sad initially it wasn’t more of a sequel I was quickly won over. They’re more like a detective series than a coming of age story, and so the whole tone is different.

@Msb, I loved The Raven Scholar! I devoured it in a couple of days and that has not been easy for me in the last six months. Very well written, original world building, interesting characters. And lots of surprises that made still made sense with the characters and the story. Highly recommend!

The Raven Scholar is the best book I’ve read this year!
Astonishingly good epic fantasy with great characters, brilliant writing and lots of twists and turns. All the way to the end, something would happen and I would gain a new understanding of an earlier scene.
So much fun!
