Set in the London publishing world in the mid 19th century, this is an angsty read with working-class characters. There’s a lot about writing, publishing and literacy that were extra treats for me!

Despite the concept required the reader to take it as a given, I really liked THE DEAD ROMANTICS and my personal ranking would be a B+/A-. I don’t remember feeling confused by it at all, though it does require that acceptance from the reader.
I would also recommend THE FINEST PRINT and especially appreciate a historical where the leads aren’t nobles, though I didn’t love it as much as I did Langston’s FOREVER YOUR ROGUE which was charming as the main MMC.
All of these are so good!
I haven’t read THE FINEST PRINT but definitely grabbing it. I got Langston’s FOREVER YOUR ROGUE not long ago (also recommended by Claudia, I believe) and really loved it so eager to check this one out.
I loved THE DEAD ROMANTICS too – as well as THE SEVEN YEAR SLIP by Poston. Will def read THE FINEST PRINT as favourites with printing presses/ not just upper class are THE SUFFRAGETTE SCANDAL by Courtney Milan, A DUKE IN DISGUISE by Cat Sebastian and A SEDITIOUS AFFAIR by KJ Charles.
I loooved The Finest Print! As @Neile said, it was really great to read a historical romance where nobody was nobility. The romance development (slowish burn) and the info about printing were both great! I actually liked this better than Forever Your Rogue (though that was also great), because I found the stakes in Forever Your Rogue (kid custody) too stressful. Note that some characters from Forever Your Rogue show up ( the FMC is Nate and Cora’s niece), but you don’t have to read FYR to enjoy Finest Print
