Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses.Hello, everyone! How are we doing on this Wednesday? If you’re feeling a little low today, that is okay. I am too. My partner and I are currently going HAM on words of affirmation.

There has also been lots of snow lately, both in New England and wildly in my home state of Florida. My fellow Southerners, how are you holding up? Supposedly, it’s supposed to be colder in Massachusetts than in Alaska this week and that just reinforces my decision to not leave the house and just gorge myself on English muffin pizzas.

Have you heard of Gaia Collective? They put on one-day choirs with just regular people who show up. Their reels frequently bring me to tears (in a good way).

Shadowmaster13 shared this in the podcast Patreon discord. The Royal School of Needlework has created a stitch bank. There you can see a variety of stitches, their history, examples of usage, and more. Very cool!

The Guardian had a spotlight on activism in the romance community. It’s certainly a topic that comes up close to election season or in the installment of a new administration. Sarah is quoted.

Dr. Esmé Louise James on Instagram runs a series called “kinky history.” In this reel, she explores whether the the infamous carriage scene in the latest season of Bridgerton was possible given the fashion of the times.

Don’t forget to share what cool or interesting things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

LOVED the Kinky History episode! Def need to look her up and see more of these! Just what I needed on an Atlanta snow-panic work-from-home day. (It’s only an inch of snow, which, as a native New Englander with a four-wheel-drive car, I laugh at; but it really is comparatively frigid for Atlanta – in the 20’s even with full sun – so I’m just as happy not to have to leave the house.)

Trying very hard to hold it together. I keep making tiny peeks out on the internet and skimming more of the very-bad-horrible incoming sludge and wanting to curl up in a fetal position. Then I cycle through rage, fear, and more rage. Doesn’t help that my kiddo is yet again out of school due to icy roads.
Thanks for the link to the Guardian piece. As a listener to both podcasts that are cited, it made me feel like a tiny part of a larger, better whole. Which is probably what we need in these times.

Snowmaggedon in Louisiana this week! Our very unscientific measurement (tape measure in the back yard) indicates we had about six inches of snow here on the northshore of Lake Pontchartrain. Apparently, the last time we had this much snow in the area was 1865! Schools have been closed all week and won’t reopen until Friday. I’m getting a bit of cabin fever, but I have managed to put together a nice collection of snow pics & videos on my camera roll—not to mention watching multiple episodes of “Alfred Hitchcock Presents” on ROKU—and I have drunk more hot tea and cocoa in the past three days than in the past 12 months combined.

Dr. Esme has just ruined all the carriage scenes in HR. lol

Do we care if they’re improbable and would have led to death in reality? No.
