Get the fire extinguisher ready and maybe also some marshmallow for toasting, because it’s a full menorah blaze tonight, and it’s always gorgeous.

Good luck, Happy Hanukkah, and thank you for being part of Smart Bitches!
Winner update: Congratulations to Maureen!

One of my most anticipated is Angelina M Lopez’s Full Moon Over Freedom (the second in her Milagro Street series).
Wishing everyone a warm and joyful time, whatever and however they celebrate!
I want to finally get to Harrow the Ninth, so I can read Nona the Ninth and be ready for Alecto the Ninth!
I’m looking forward to “Georgie, all along” by Kate Clayborn. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Happy Hanukkah! Merry Christmas! Happy holiday of your choice.
I would like to read a new book by S.K. Dunstall in the Linesman world or a new The Others story by Anne Bishop; unfortunately, I don’t believe either is on the calendar. I’m sure I will find plenty of great books to read anyway!
Many thanks, Sarah, for this community.
Alecto the Ninth for me. These books have been a wild ride and I’ve been reading then alongside my daughter, so I can’t wait for another day of “She did WHAT?”
So, I am most looking forward to the next Aurelia Ryder book from Ilona Andrews (after Blood Heir) and the next MurderBot book from Marta Wells. Alas, I don’t know if either is coming out in 2023. However, there IS a new Martha Wells book coming out next year, called The Witch King, which sounds like fun. Right now I’m re-reading Gideon the Ninth, and then hopefully be able to get into the next two books for the first time. I think the series is set to finish by the end of 2023.
Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, warm and cozy wishes to all.
A new T.Kingfisher Paladin book would be amazing. Or a graphic novel set in a beautiful fantasy world.
Thank you Sarah for this lovely community!
Happy Hanukkah! Merry Christmas!
I don’t even know if it has a name yet, but whatever the newest Psy-Changeling book is/will be. Those are my crack!
Wishing everyone the happiest of holidays. Stay warm!!
Can’t wait for Rebecca Zanetti’s You Can Die. Been chasing this thrilling series. Happy Holidays.
The next thing by Ilona Andrews. They’ve been hinting at something new, I think (I hope it wasn’t just a dream!), and I’d love to see what whole new universe they create (no pressure).
Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas.
I would say the next Hell’s Belles and Dark Olympics books especially. Also the next cozy mystery books I usually buy as well by Kate Carlisle and Alexis Morgan.
The book I’m looking forward to the most in 2023 is “Run For Your Midlife” by Robyn Peterman, which releases in March. Fortunately for me, I still have two books in the series to read before then: one on Hoopla in January, and one on Audible. Daisy and her friends and family feel like friends at this point.
Resonance Surge by Nalini Singh tops my list. I love the Psy/Changeling world.
At the moment I’m most looking forward to the final volume of The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, so that I can finally read it! (I read the fan translation online, but I’ve been holding on to the books because I hate cutting off in the middle of a multi-volume book)
The book I most want to read is Diana Gabaldon’s latest “Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone” (2021). It’s been waiting for me to finally be a quiet time. Last Days if Hanukkah sound perfect for settling in for a long read.
I’m looking forward to the next Ilona Andrews, whatever it may be.
Not a romance, but Sam Neill’s autobiography Did I Ever Tell You This? is coming out in 2023, and I can’t wait!
He’s a fantastic actor, but also a farmer with a funny menagerie and a respected wineproducer (and most of all, a New Zealander!). His Instagram account is probably the best/funniest/most genuine celebrity account out there and often just plain funny when he posts his farm animals which are all named after other actors he’s worked with. He truly seems to be a down-to-earth guy and I’m sure the book will be an amusing and interesting read.
Although I’ve got some books publishing in 2023 that I’m excited for,, I’m not sure there is one that stands out more than others. If I had to pick, I think the new Sebastian St. Cyr by CS Harris.
Happy holidays for everyone celebrating today! I’m actually most excited about reading Rest is Resistance, that I fist heard about here! It seems like the perfect way to start a new year. Hope everyone is staying warm (especially in the US!)
I’m looking forward to checking out WITCH KING by Martha Wells.
There are so many books to look forward to! I’m going to say Sleep No More by Jayne Ann Krentz since it comes out soon.
What a gorgeous bag!
I’m about to get my hands on Naomi Novik’s The Golden Enclaves (I gave my nephew a copy of the first book for Christmas and I’ve promised to let him know what I think of the final one. Here’s hoping we like both!) And I am really looking forward to laughing and crying over Terry Pratchett: A Life with Footnotes.
Happy Hanukkah!
I’m so excited for Georgie, All Along by Kate Clayborn. Happy Holidays!
Encore in Death by JD Robb
Lost in the Moment and Found, by Seanan McGuire
I preordered it back in April.
First thing: that bag is beautiful, wow!
Now to the question, Scarlett Peckham’s new book in the Society of Sirens series The Portrait of a Duchess is out in March. I probably have a few other pre-orders out there, but that one sticks out
Although there is no one book I’m eagerly awaiting in 2023 that matches my anticipation in 2022 for Rachel Reid’s THE LONG GAME, there are some books I’m looking forward to reading in 2023, including: Genevieve Turner’s COWBOY, PROMISE ME ALWAYS (January 19), Kati Wilde’s SHERIFF’S BAD BEAR (January 31), Serena Bell’s WILDER AT LAST (February 7), Zoe York’s REBEL AT HEART (April 25), and Julie Kriss’s REVERB (May 1). Perhaps not a coincidence that almost all of these books are the final books of their respective series.
Christina Lauren’s The True Love Experiment!
Witch King by Martha Wells
The Fiancee Farce by Alexandria Bellefleur
Finally reading the Discovery of Witches books. They’ve been on my Kindle way too long!
April will be a big month for me with new Veronica Speedwell (A SINISTER REVENGE) and Charlotte Holmes (A TEMPEST AT SEA).
Happy final night of Hanukkah!
I just recently pre-ordered R.F. Kuang’s upcoming literary thriller/satire, Yellowface (through the HarperCollins Union bookshop!). Kuang has said she wants the book to read like a twitter thread you can’t stop updating, so I’m expecting a wild ride along with the commentary on racism.
I am looking forward to the next rivers of London book!
There are so many to choose! I will go with Resonance Surge by Nalini Singh. Her books always bring me joy!
I decided to make 2023 the year I really work on my tbr. I plan on starting with The Priory of the Orange Tree.
Looking forward to Witch King by Martha Wells! Happy holidays!
Anything by JD Robb/Nora Roberts and James Rollins’ second book in his fantasy series, Cradle of Ice
Too many! Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, C S Harris, and Anna Huber. Also Martha Wells has a new one as well.
My 2023 TBR is already as long as my arm. A few that I’m particularly looking forward to are “Georgie, All Along” by Kate Clayborn, “Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute” by Talia Hibbert, “Good Girl Fail” by Roni Loren, “Her Good Side” by Rebekah Weatherspoon, and “Code Name Charming” by Lucy Parker. Looks like 2023 will be a great year for romances!
Thank you to the SBTB team for the holiday fun & giveaways, and all their amazing work in 2022. Happy holidays and a fabulous new year to everyone!
