Bridgerton Collection: Volume 1 by Julia Quinn is $6.99! It’s a little pricier than what we’d normally feature but you get three full-length historical romances and these collections, when not on sale, are priced at $19.99. Not a bad deal!

An enchanting collection containing the first three novels in New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn’s beloved Bridgerton series set in Regency England—The Duke and I, The Viscount Who Loved Me, and An Offer from a Gentlemannow a series created by Shondaland for Netflix.

    The Duke and I
When Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings, agree to a fake courtship, they think they’ve found the perfect solution to their problems. Romantically associated with one of London’s most desirable catches, Daphne’s prospects among the ton will soar. For avowed bachelor Simon, an attachment to Daphne will deter would-be brides and their ambitious mamas. Their plan works like a charm—at first. But amid the glittering, gossipy, cut-throat world of London’s elite, there is only one certainty: love ignores every rule. . .

    The Viscount Who Loved Me
London’s most elusive bachelor, Anthony Bridgerton is determined to wed. But one obstacle stands in his way—his intended’s older sister, Kate Sheffield, who is driving Anthony mad with her determination to stop the betrothal. Kate is quite sure that reformed rakes do not make the best husbands, and Anthony Bridgerton is the most wicked rogue of them all. She’s determined to protect her sister—even as she fears she may not be able to resist the reprehensible and oh so desirable rake herself . . .

    An Offer from a Gentleman
Sophie Beckett never dreamed she’d be able to sneak into Lady Bridgerton’s famed masquerade ball—or that she would be spinning in the arms of her “Prince Charming”—the debonair and devastatingly handsome Benedict Bridgerton. But when the clock strikes midnight, Sophie’s enchanting evening ends. Since that night Benedict has been able to think of nothing but the bewitching young woman, and he’s sworn to find and wed his mystery miss. Yet will another unexpectedly steal his heart—and his chance for a fairy tale love?

  • Blood Heir

    Blood Heir by Ilona Andrews

Blood Heir by Ilona Andrews is $1.49 or $1.99 depending on where you buy! This is a spin-off of Andrews’ Kate Daniels series with the main character being Kate and Curran’s ward. Obviously this will be a more nuanced read if you’ve finished or are familiar with the prior series. I dropped off that train around book three.

From award-winning author, Ilona Andrews, an all-new novel set in the New York Times #1 bestselling Kate Daniels World and featuring Julie Lennart-Olsen, Kate and Curran’s ward.

Atlanta was always a dangerous city. Now, as waves of magic and technology compete for supremacy, it’s a place caught in a slow apocalypse, where monsters spawn among the crumbling skyscrapers and supernatural factions struggle for power and survival.

Eight years ago, Julie Lennart left Atlanta to find out who she was. Now she’s back with a new face, a new magic, and a new name—Aurelia Ryder—drawn by the urgent need to protect the family she left behind. An ancient power is stalking her adopted mother, Kate Daniels, an enemy unlike any other, and a string of horrifying murders is its opening gambit.

If Aurelia’s true identity is discovered, those closest to her will die. So her plan is simple: get in, solve the murders, prevent the prophecy from being fulfilled, and get out without being recognized. She expected danger, but she never anticipated that the only man she’d ever loved could threaten everything.

One small misstep could lead to disaster. But for Aurelia, facing disaster is easy; it’s relationships that are hard.

  • Yes & I Love You

Yes & I Love You by Roni Loren

Yes & I Love You by Roni Loren is $1.99! This is a contemporary romance by one of my absolute favorite authors. I remember hearing Loren discuss this book at the last RWA that was held in New York. The heroine has Tourette’s Syndrome and social anxiety, and Loren also mentioned her (Loren’s, not the heroine) son has a tic disorder. Have you read this one?

A beautifully emotional new contemporary romance from New York Times and USA Today bestseller Roni Loren.

Everyone knows Miz Poppy, the vibrant reviewer whose commentary brightens the New Orleans nightlife. But no one knows Hollyn, the real face behind the media star…or the fear that keeps her isolated. When her boss tells her she needs to add video to her blog or lose her job, she’s forced to rely on an unexpected source to help her face her fears.

When aspiring actor Jasper Deares finds out the shy woman who orders coffee every day is actually Miz Poppy, he realizes he has a golden opportunity to get the media attention his acting career needs. All he has to do is help Hollyn come out of her shell…and through their growing connection, finally find her voice.

  • Who Wants to Marry a Duke

Who Wants to Marry a Duke by Sabrina Jeffries

Who Wants to Marry a Duke by Sabrina Jeffries is $1.99! It also looks like it’s part of KU. This is the third book in the Duke Dynasty series and I believe Catherine mentioned it on a previous Hide Your Wallet. Are you a fan of the series?

Stepsiblings in search of the truth about their mother’s succession of beloved husbands—and their own surprising identities as eligible young nobles—are the endearing stars of this dazzling series from New York Times bestselling author Sabrina Jeffries . . .

A past kiss with adorably bookish Miss Olivia Norley should be barely a memory for Marlowe Drake, the Duke of Thornstock. After all, there are countless debutantes for a handsome rakehell to charm beyond a young lady whose singular passion is chemistry—of the laboratory type. But Thorn has not forgotten—or forgiven—the shocking blackmail scheme sparked by that single kiss, or the damage caused to both their names. Now Thorn’s half-brother, Grey, has hired the brilliant Miss Norley for her scientific expertise in solving a troubling family mystery. And the once-burned Thorn, suspicious of her true motives, vows to follow her every move . . .

For Olivia, determining whether arsenic poisoning killed Grey’s father is the pioneering experiment that could make her career—and Thorn’s constant presence is merely a distraction. But someone has explosive plans to derail her search. Soon the most unexpected discovery is the caring nature of the reputed scoundrel beside her—and the electricity it ignites between them . . .

  1. FashionablyEvil says:

I remain glad that I watched Bridgerton before I read any of the books because I loved the show, but don’t think I would have watched it had I read the books first. I think the most charitable read of them is that they were all written about 20 years ago, but Anthony and Benedict are both pretty arrogant and annoying and Daphne’s sexual assault of Simon is inexcusable.

  2. NomadiCat says:

BLOOD HEIR was sooooo good. Speaking as someone who has read every available word in the Kate Daniels universe, it was immensely gratifying as a long-time fan.

That said, I know they put a lot of effort into making this a good starting place for new readers. So if you’ve been hankering for a rich and complex urban fantasy story set in a post-apocalyptic(ish) version of Atlanta, or just enjoy badass ladies who wield magic and spears named Stabby with equal finesse, check it out! You can’t beat that price point.

  3. Lara says:

I enjoyed Yes & I Love You, however, it did have one of my least favorite things in it–

    SPOILER

    SPOILER

    SPOILER

    SPOILER

–when Hollyn’s longtime friend Cal straight-up feelingsbombed her with “I’ve always loved you and have been waiting for you to realize that, but now that you’re in a relationship with someone else, I feel like I should DEFINITELY tell you and emphasize that I’m the ONLY person who really understands you.” Seriously jerk move, made me not like him one bit anymore.

  4. Jessi says:

I completely agree with NomadCat! The Kate Daniels series got me through the darkest days of the pandemic and I’ve now read every short story, novella and spin-off novel in that world. I LOVED Blood Heir.

  5. Kris Bock says:

I read that as “the main character being Kate and Curran’s sword” which would also be cool.

  6. Dreamingintrees says:

Regarding Blood Heir,I loved the story but l found the main villain to be very disturbing. I don’t think it’s a spoiler because it’s mentioned right in the beginning, but there is a villain that gets power by torturing and sacrifice babies and children, which is a hard no for me in things I’m reading for fun.
