Links: Jumbo Edition!

Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses. If you’re an American or based in the U.S., you’re all probably immersed in election day hell. Normally, I post around five links, but I figured I’d include a little extra today.

Some are left over from Halloween festivities, but we want to give you a bright spot in your day.

Here is a great list of niche animal situations to Google:

Love these “mundane” Halloween costumes, which is apparently a tradition in Japan. I feel seen by the “charging cord too short” one.

If you have a weakness for holiday romances, here is a big ol’ list of recommendations! It also features Sarah’s Hanukkah romance, Lighting the Flames.

Protect Governor at all costs!

I follow comedian Nick Lutsko on Twitter, and I’ve become obsessed with his Spirit Halloween jingles.

Day drinking? Check out this cool dragon wine!

Want to be impressed by a person’s talent? Meet Siren in a Stairwell!

Lastly, meet the 31 aunts of Halloween!

Don’t forget to share what super cool things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

I am living the “Zoom background error” costume these days.

    Oh, the mundanity! LOVE THIS.

We could build a fabulous gallery of SBs peering over their books taking worried glances at TV news coverage of the US election.

I decided today it was very important to listen to every cover of “Islands in the Stream” on YouTube and pick which one I liked the best. And I love Dolly. It’s just I’ve always found that particular song a wee bit corny, but I think corny escapism is what I need today. It seemed to beat spending my day breathing into a paper bag. What was that about displacement activities?
For those that are curious, the Running Mates are winning. The female singer has a beautiful voice that evokes Dolly without being a copycat and I’m big fan of stripped down acoustic covers in general.

@Jill Q. Love this version! I have a soft spot for duets and this song is especially soothing.

  7. Emily says:

I wish Bridgerton had come out yesterday

  8. neh says:

Fabulous bird pictures from the Audubon photography contest.

Governor: he direcc, he protecc, and most importantly, he respecc

I’ve also already planned my Halloween costume for next year to be “teacher who couldn’t think of a good costume”

  11. Cristie says:

Governor is a badass and I want him to come live with me.

  12. Escapeologist says:

    @Emma that was perfection

“Governor: he direcc, he protecc, and most importantly, he respecc”
